USER MANUAL
1. General informationThe load moment indicator (LMI) HC3926 can be equipped with
various cranes and has been designed to provide the crane operator withthe essential information which enable the machine to be used within itsdesigned parameters.
Using various sensing devices and operation mode, the HC3926LMI monitors all crane functions and provides the operator with a realtime working condition parameter. The readings continuously changewith the crane action.
The HC3926 LMI also provides the operator with informationregarding the length and angle of the boom, tip height, working radius, rated load and actual load. If non permitted conditions are approached, the HC 3926 LM I will warn the operator by an audible alarm, or awarning light at the same time send out a cutting-off signal.
Combining with some control circuit of the crane, the operatorscan only work to the safe direction, and telescope out, boom luffingdown, hoist up will be stopped.

2. WarningsThe HC3926 LMI is an operational aid which warns a crane
operator of an approaching of over-hoist condition and of overloadconditions w hich may cause damage to equipment and personnel.
This device is not, and should not, be a substitute for goodjudgment, experience and accepted safe crane operating procedures, theoperator is solely responsible for the safe operation of the crane andmust observe and obey all warnings and instructions supplied by thecrane manufacturer.
Prior to operating a crane equipped with a operational aid, theoperator must carefully and thoroughly read and understand theinformation in this manual and the crane manufacturer's manual toinsure that the operator knows the operation and limitations of theoperational aid and crane. Proper functioning is dependent on properdaily inspection and observance of the operating instructions set forth inthis m anual.
3. General information of use(1) The LMI is a protection aid. To use it properly the operator

must comply with this manual Ensure that operation is under permittedconditions Abide the safe operation rule Abide other rules and notes.
(2) Before operation the operator must switch on and ensure LMIsystem works well.
(3) Forbid heavily shake central unit, display and sensors.(4) Unauthorized personnel can't remove the shell, otherwise
moisture and dust w ill go into the inner part.(5) Cut off the electricity while moving the crane.(6) Gently clean the display with pledget.
4. Inspection before operation(1) Check the cable of the length/angle sensor.(2) Check the cable of the other parts.(3) Switch on and check the display.(4) After the properly work of the display, please check the system. If you find some problems that you can't solve, please directly contact

5. System descriptionThe HC3926 load moment indicator cons is ts of a centra l
microprocessor unit (central unit) , operat ing console, length/anglesenso r , pressure transduce r and anti- two-b lock switch.
The system operates on the principle of reference/actualcompar i son .
The actual value, result ing from the pressure measurement iscompared with the reference data s tored in the central processormemory and evaluated in the microprocessor . When l imits are reached,an overload-warning s ignal is generated at the operator 's console.
At the same t ime, the dangerous crane movements , such as hois t up,telescope out and boom down wil l be s topped (need the cooperation ofthe crane 's circuit) .
The data regarding the crane, such as load capacity charts , boomweights , centers of gravity and other geometry parameters are s tored inmemory chips in the central processor unit and calculated by the centralunit for operat ion condit ion.
Boom length and angle are measured by the length/angle sensor ,which is mounted on the boom. The length cable reel also serves for

signal transmission for the anti-two-block switch. The actual load is measure by the pressure transducer which
separately mounted in the cylinder piston and cylinder rod and then sentto the central unit and calculated by microprocessor.

6.4 Limitation of boon angleHC3926 LMI system has the function of confining angle scope ofthe crane's boom. In order to warn the operator of dangerous working
conditions such like buildings, bridges and high-volt wirings it shouldreset the angle limitation of the boom after the boom telescope outagain.
WarningThe angle limitation function of HC3926 system is only a
warning purpose no control function. The user can select thisfunction according to the actual condition. Each time restart theLMI system it is asked to reset the angle limitation.
6.4.1 Setting of upper angle limitationPlease boom up to the maximum safe angle and press this button
before operate the crane. Then the LMI system set this angel as theupper limitation. The signal will light and display "upper anglelimitation xx ". If this limitation is exceeded the bu tton 's signal willlight and LMI sound alarm to warn the operator to take care.

6.7 Indication Light6.7.1 A2B indication lightSee picture (right) I C
The red warning light will light up as soon as the anti-two-blocklimit Switch contact open, indicating that a two-blocking condition isapproaching. At the same time the audible alarm will sound. Thefollowing crane movements will be stopped subsequently: hoist up,telescope out, boom down. In order to avoid any injury to people orcrane, please check the A2B system before operating the crane in thefollowing procedure:
a. Manually lifting the weight attached to the anti two-blockswitches, then the audible alarm sound and the anti two-block alarmlight will light.
b. Slowly raise the hook or lower the boom or extend(telescope)the boom to create a potential two-block condition, when the hook liftsthe weight, the audible alarm sound, the anti two-block alarm light willlight and the crane movement such as hoist up, luffing down, telescopicout will be stopped.
c. If the light and audible alarm do not function as described andthe crane movements are not stopped, the system is not working- 22 -

See picture (right)The yellow load moment pre-warning light will light up when the
load on the crane reaches the defined pre-warning area 90%"-100% ofthe rated capacity, thus indicating that an overload condition isapproaching. This means for the operator to continue his crane operationwith extreme caution.6.7.3 Overload warning light
The red "Stop" light will light up and alarm Sound when the actualload reach to 100% of the rated capacity. The crane movement such ashoist up, boom stretch out and luffing down will be stopped. Thiscondition can be eliminated when hoist down the load or luffing up.

To adjust the length of the boom in the following way:Retract the boom to basic boom length and check the pre-stress of
the cable reel (cable must be tight). Then open the housing of thelength/angle sensor and use the screwdriver turn the axis of the lengthpotentiometer (see the arrow mark) till the displayed boom lengthaccord with the basic boom length.

7.4 Adjustment for the angle sensorThe angle sensor is installed in the same housing with the length
sensor.First, retract the boom to the basic length and make sure the
displayed value accord with the actual length. Use the angle instrumentor the tape measure to check whether the actual angle between 10 and70 keep the same with the displayed value. If not then must adjust theangle sensor. You can loose the install bolt with an arrow mark in thepicture and write down the angle degree.
Adjust the angle sensor to change the radius. Usually per 0.5accord with 100mm. And then luffing to 70 and check the radiusagain. Repeat the above action till the displayed value accord with theactual value. And then tight the bolt again.

7.5 BuzzerIf the system display in order and no any error code but the buzzer
aloud without stop then you should check the connection between thelength cable and A2B switch to see whether it drop off or water fall in.7.6 Length cable of the length sensor
The reason for the length cable that cannot drawback when theboom retract or length cable loose when the boom retract to the basiccondition is that the mechanic peculiarity of the reelspring or the lengthcable fall off the tank so the retrieve force decrease.
To solve the problem just tight the length cable inside the cable reelfor several rounds:
1. Withdraw the crane and lay the boom on the frame2. Tight the cable reel for several rounds to make the length cable
can be draw out as normal3. If tighting the cable cause boom length wrong display thenadjust the length sensor till the displayed value accord with the actual
boom length
