REPEATABILITY If you put a block on a scale the display will read out

the weight. 10

Block WeightBlock Lifted

Block Put Back

When the same block (load), is removed and then is placed back on the scale, the non-repeatability error, will be the possible difference between the same load

Page 3: Load Cell Errors

Non- Linearity

As the load increases it is ideal for the cell load versus cell output to be linear The error is the amount that the signal out put deviates from linear

values There are multiple methods to compensate and make the relation

more linear and predictable

Creep Over time if a material is under a load and under

environmental conditions (E.G high temperature) it will begin to show slight deformation.

In the sense of load cells if there is a significant load for an extended period of time it is possible that this will show a small error in output

Hysteresis

Is the difference when coming down to a load versus going up to a load

From one block to two blocks

From four blocks to two blocks

Final Notes The full capacity of the load cell shown is

200,000 The combined error is the calculated error that

the load cell may experience based on all other errors on the Full Scale Output

To be determined from testing will be our own system error: This will be based on possible error cause by our

silo system operations and operator ( E.g. uneven surface)
