DEVELOPMENT
Our Story
In 2013 a group of like-minded business
people were involved in a workshop about
Aboriginal business engagement. From
that first meeting the Local Contracting
Alliance (LCA) was born.
Founders Jim Atkinson, Eric Carles,
Matthew Shier and Patrick Flynn provide
their expertise on a voluntary basis. In
addition to their continuing discussions
with Aboriginal businesses in WA, they
have coordinated the LCA Aboriginal
Business Showcases held in 2013, 2014
and 2015, with the 2016 Showcase
scheduled for August 25th 2016.
1 Our Goal
The LCA’s goal is to promote & facilitate
Aboriginal business in all Western
Australian industries, from resources to
retail and everything in-between. The
success it has achieved is attributed to its
model of linking sellers and buyers in one
place, on one day, to network and form
mutually beneficial, sustainable business
relationships.
2 Our Growth
Why - To open up contracting
opportunities for Aboriginal business.
How – By buyers and sellers collaborating,
networking, being open, showing initiative
and demonstrating integrity.
What – Facilitate relationships and
knowledge building by connecting buyers
with sellers.
