FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS

Poor Fire Safety Awareness can have SERIOUS consequences. There are 3 main causes for fire in the workplace; • They are started deliberately • They occur because people are

not alert to fire hazards • They occur because people are

careless of fire hazards

It is predicted that the UK could stand to lose

as much as £10 billion as a result of commercial and industrial fires by

2020. The most common fire hazards within a warehouse are;

• Packaging • Cardboard • Paper • Plastics • Polystyrene • Wood • Paint

The impact of fire in a working environment is far reaching. It includes injury, business interruption, cash-flow volatility and loss of reputation. Sadly, fire also results in the loss of life. Fire damage may also result in the forced closure of a site, relocation and job losses.
