The logistics networks may be understood as the material flows (transport) between specific points (DCs, ADCs, etc.), ranging from the supply of the raw material to the delivery of the final products to consumers in an optimized fashion.

LASH

• Lighter Aboard Ships • For moving cargo from ship to shore and the other way

around, a barge or other shallow water craft is carried onboard a ship.

• Refers to the practice of loading barges (lighters) aboard a larger vessel for transport. It was developed in response to a need to transport lighters, a type of unpowered barge, between inland waterways separated by open seas. Lighters are typically towed or pushed around harbors, canals or rivers and cannot be relocated under their own power.
