DQG, formed in February 1994 has grown to include
more than 2,000 members representing over 380
prominent organizations from both the private and the
public sectors.
The objective of this manual is to help Partners under-
stand DQG brand values and brand applications.
This logo usage and guidelines manual is written for
the benefit of those Partners who wish to make use of
the DQG logo. This may only be done in accordance
to these guidelines, terms and conditions of use as
issued by DQG.

Our Design PhilosophyFor DQG, quality is the predominant feature of the organisation. At DQG, we believe that excellence can be achieved only through commitment to quality. We endeavour that this quality is maintained by our Part-ners in order to achieve the objectives of each organi-zation.
Throughout this book you will see and read about the exact guidelines governing the use and implementation of our logo.
The logo was carefully created to encompass and represent our brand’s philosophy. It embodies the idea of symbolic relationships, the undeniable syn-ergy of three letters uniting to create a greater whole.
In all of our communications and graphics, it is our wish to create a sense of uniformity and harmony.

Our Logo
Origin of the DQG symbol
The unique DQG symbol stands for balance harmony, our commitment to quality and wholeness. It represents our tradition of integrating diverse ideas and solving complex problems.
The diagram to the left demonstrates the origin of the DQG symbol design and construction which includes modified letter form. It is meant as historical information only, and does not imply that the symbol can in any way be manipulated.
The importance of this cannot be stressed strongly enough; modification or re-treatment of the DQG symbol will detract from the integrity of the DQG signature and more importantly, the value of the brand.

Our Logo TypeTypography is a fundamental building block of the DQG design, providing a uniform structure to rein-force our corporate identity throughout all of our communication.
The corporate typeface used is a customised font that is specially designed for Dubai Quality Group. The DQG logotype was created as a specific artistic style to convey the personality and voice of the DQG brand.
The logotype style was favored for its flowing quality and ability to render strength, balance and symmetry that is complementary to the DQG symbol.
In order to protect the integrity of our brand, do not condense, extend, bold, italicize or otherwise distort the fonts in anyway. Use only this typeface in all printed materials and all other collaterals. The logo-type must never be altered or replaced by any other type.

The Clearspace Formula also known as the protected area or exclusion zone, refers to the minimum amount of space around the logo. This area is like a wall, where no other graphic elements or text may intrude to keep it protected from confusing or competing images.
A minimum clear space requirement has been established to ensure the prominence and clarity of the DQG logo. It is essential that the DQG logo remains free of all graphics, taglines, identities, photography, and typography.
The height of the letter ‘D’ in the logotype Dubai Quality Group serves as the X-Height and is the basis of the formula. The clear space around the logo must be 2X.
Please note that backgrounds must not interfere with or become part of it.

Colour GuideColour provides a strong visual link to our brand identity across a wide range of applications.
DQG red, yellow ochre, grey and black serve as our brand’s corporate colours for print, electronic and environmental applications.
To find colours that are consistent with the business needs of design applications, please refer to the relevant style guides.
To ensure consistent representation of our brand identity always use high-quality vendors and reproduction methods.

Limited UseBackground
The DQG logo should be used with a white patch on
any coloured or textured backgrounds. The logo
should not be used on any form of images or photo-
graphs.
Mono colour Logo
The Mono colour logo should be used on a white or
black background. When placed on a black back-
ground, the logo should be reversed.
Single colour Logo
The logo should be used in the single colours of only
black or the DQG corporate colour. A single colour
logo should be used on a white background. When
placed on colour background, the logo should be

Maximize the contrast using the black or white colours against any solid colour backgrounds.
Please follow the given illustrations for better under-standing. This applies to all variants of the primary colour.
Special UsesOn occasion, the logo may be integrated with other graphic elements for special uses such as DQG pro-gram badges (ie. Partner program), etc. Such special use versions of the logo incorporating creative license may only be created by DQG, while paying careful attention to brand consistency. No third-party may create a special use logo under any circumstances.

Maintain the Unified Logo.The DQG logo and the logo type should be always used together. Do not display only part of the logo.
LocalisationThe logo should not be localized or translated into any other language.
No Suggestion of EndorsementDo not use the DQG logo in any manner that suggests co-branding or a relationship with Dubai Quality Group beyond being a partner.
LogotypeThe order of Arabic and English should remain con-stant.
The logo should always be used with both the Arabic and English logotypes. The size of the text in propor-tion to the logo should not be altered.
Cut ShadowThe logo must always be used with the cut shadow,unless the logo is used with a single colour.

Alteration of the LogoThe DQG logo artwork should not be altered in any way, or combined with any other object, including, but not limited to, other logos, icons, words, graphics, photos, slogans, numbers, symbols, or web audio files.
OrientationThe logo should not be displayed in any orientation different from what is provided in the artwork by DQG. Do not turn the logo on its side. The text should always read horizontally on the medium on which it is placed.
Drop Shadow/BorderThe logo and the logo type should not be used with a drop shadow and no border should be created around it.

Stretching/ResizingDo not distort the logo by stretching or resizing. If resizing is needed, it should only be done with the proportions intact.

Logo Usage For Partners

1. DQG shall remain the exclusive owner of the DQG logo. A partner shall not indulge in actions to compromise DQG’s right to the logo, or any other similar mark anywhere in the world, now or in the future.
2. The partners will be provided the DQG logo and they shall undertake the sole responsibility for the use of the logo.
3. The permit shall be terminated automatically upon the Partners’s breach of any of the terms and conditions laid down by DQG.
4. DQG shall have the right to terminate or modify the Partners permission to use the DQG logo at anytime without any kind of liability or obligation to the Partners.
5. DQG holds the sole right to take action against any use of the DQG logo that does not conform to the terms and
conditions of the permit.
6. Upon notification of termination of the permit by DQG, a Partner should cease all use of the DQG logo and remove the logo from all materials and items under the Partner’s control within a period of 7 days from the date of notification.
7. The DQG logo should not be displayed as a primary or prominent feature. The logo must be smaller and subordinate to the Partner’s own logo, and any other branding.
8. If the DQG logo is displayed with logos for other virtual worlds or platforms, it must be of the same size and should
be given equal prominence as the other logos.
9. Dubai Quality Group may request changes to or deletion of uses of the DQG logo that is not in conformity with these Guidelines or that might otherwise impair DQG’s right or dignity to the logo. DQG may revise or update these Guidelines for using the logo at any time. This permit shall be governed in all respect by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and within the jurisdiction of Dubai Courts.
10. The use of DQG logo is governed by the terms and conditions contract issued and signed between DQG and the user as confirmation of permission given to the Partner for the use of the logo.

Consistent use of approved reproduction art is essential to effective DQG identity management. Color sample sheets are provided for use in specifying colors for printing.
Print formulae and and other applications have been stated in the previous pages. Your printer may find it necessary to adjust the formula according to substrate and printing methods.
