A Little Collation of London Attractions – November 2014

The South Bank

While perhaps not an attraction in traditional terms, the South Bank of the Thames in London is a great place to visit. Along the waterfront is a host of

activities (the Globe, the Millennium Wheel and a Prison Museum to name a few), markets and a selection of fantastic restaurants. If you visit in the winter

months, there is also a festive market offering gifts, sweets and traditional foods. The South Bank also offers the best view of the Houses of Parliament

and Big Ben.

Jack The Ripper Tours

There are a number of “Ripper Tours” out there, a good idea is to book beforehand. The typical set up is a walking tour, with a guide narrating street by street how the grisly murders were perpetrated and how the

police struggled to keep up. Don’t forget the Ripper was never discovered! Take the late evening tour, for an authentically chilling

evening out.

St Paul’s Cathedral- The Whispering Gallery

There are few buildings that can live up to the magnitude of the iconic St Paul’s Cathedral, so why not take a trip and learn the

varied history of this magnificent building. The Whispering Gallery is a particular highlight, as it features acoustics that allow

a whisper to be heard on the other side of the gallery clearly.
