Sentence structures such as Ash- ley has just washed, the truck has just collected, etc. Students will also learn spelling patterns with -le, - al, and -el (bicycle, buckle, castle, metal, model, pedals, petals, saddle). Reading and writing will fo- cus on writing slogans and advertising descriptions.

Unit 7

Recycle (Lesson’s 1-3)

Introductions: Teacher introduces self to the students, and the students introduce themselves to the teacher by participating in an “About Me” activity.

Unit 7: Students will learn vocabulary of basic recycling elements such as cardboard, cloth, glass, and where rubber and plastic come from. We will learn how to describe actions in the recent past, such as, he has just fixed, he has just painted, etc. Finally, we will examine the recycling process and why it is important to recycle.

2nd (19th-23rd Oct)

Unit 7

Unit 7: In lessons 4-6 students will focus on gram-mar and speaking objectives, like describing actions in the recent past. Success! (Lesson’s 1-3)

Unit 8: Students will learn the names of different jobs such as, athlete, artist, dentist, doctor, explorer, etc. They will also learn about Alfred Nobel and the Nobel prizes. We will describe actions in the past using present perfect and review the use of for and since. Ex. Since 2007, for ten years, for a long time. Students will focus on listening for specific information like acted vs. acting vs. actor.

4th (2nd-6th Nov)

Unit 8 Success! (Lesson’s 4-6)

Unit 8: Lesson 4 will focus on grammar and speaking such as comparing simple past and present perfect. Ex. for ten years, last year, two years ago. We will also learn about spelling patterns for jobs ending in -or, -er, -ist, or -ian, like author, builder, dancer, dentist, guitarist. While reading and writing, students will read and understand emails about success; identify email writing techniques; write an email.

5th (9th – 13th Nov) Unit Test

6th (16th – 20th Nov)

Unit 9

Helping Out (Lesson’s 1-3)

Unit 9: Students will name objects in the home and learn how technology is changing in the home. We will practice the present perfect with yet. Ex. Have you fixed… yet? Students will focus on listening and vocabulary by completing a chart from inflation in a dialogue. Vocabulary will focus on chores around the house.

7th (23rd – 27th Nov)

Unit 9 Helping Out (Lesson’s 4-6)

Unit 9: Lesson 4 will focus on grammar and speaking such as describing actions in the past using the present perfect with already and yet. Ex. Have you cleaned your room yet? He’s already made his bed. We will raise awareness of homophones such as knight and night, bare and bear, whole and hole. While reading and writing, students will read and understand a short text and write a To Do list.

8th (30th Nov– 4th Dec)

Unit 10

Experiences (Lesson’s 1-3)

Unit 10: Students will name traditional food from around the world and learn about taste buds. We will talk about experiences using the present perfect and ever. Ex. Have you ever eaten noodles? While listening to audio tapes, students will focus on specific information and past participles. Ex. Have you ever…?

Experiences (Lesson’s 4-6)

Unit 10: Lesson 4 will focus on grammar and speaking such as practicing the present perfect and using never. Ex. I’ve never shown my photos before. Lessons will raise awareness of spelling and sound patters with “ou” and “ow,” like, allowed, around, clowns. Students will read and understand how to use “so” and “because.” Ex. So I can take sailing lessons, because I love the ocean.

10th (14th – 18th Dec) Test Three

11th (18th – 22nd Jan)

Unit 11

Inventions (Lesson’s 1-3)

Unit 11: Students will learn the names of different parts of machines and how machines help us. We will introduce and practice using the relative pronouns “that,” “where,” and “when.” Ex. You need to wear a shirt that keeps you cool. While listening and practicing vocabulary, students will lean collocations. Ex. press the button, push down the lever.

12th (25th – 29th Jan)

Unit 11

Inventions (Lesson’s 4-6)

Unit 11: Lesson 4 will focus on grammar and speaking that introduces the practice of using the relative pronoun “who.” Ex. George knew athletes who needed to practice. Students will learn about spelling patterns with -er and -or, such as, hammer, lever, operator. While reading and writing, students will be asked to show understanding of a short text, describe an object in detail and write a description of an invention.

13th (8th – 12th Feb)

Unit 12

Parades (Lesson’s 1-3)

Unit 12: Students will learn to name performers in a circus and learn how the human body moves. They will practice the use of possessive pronouns, such as, hers, his, mine and yours. They will also practice the use of the relative pronoun “whose.” Listening and vocabulary will focus on helping students recognize rhyming words like beat and best.

14th (15th – 19th Feb)

Unit 12

Parades (Lesson’s 4-6)

Unit 12: Lesson 4 will review past progressive, “going to” for the future, simple past and present perfect. Spelling activities will help students become aware of syllables. We will also read and understand a leaflet and learn how to use headings in a leaflet. These writing activities will help students learn to promote actives and write about celebrations.
