Mission• The mission of Longview Middle School is
to prepare our students to be competitive learners in the 21st Century. This will include encouraging independent reading with comprehension and fluency and using technology as a tool to enhance writing skills, problem solving, and reasoning.

Procedures for Entering School
• Students enter and exit the building through assigned doors (by grade level).
• Support staff monitor hallways and entrances.• Teachers stand at their door during class
transitions.• All doors are locked at 7:30 and students are
sent to the main entrance for sign-in.• Students arriving after 7:30 are tardy to school.
Procedures for Closing School
• Secure and count the laptop computers.
• Students exit through assigned doors (by grade level).
• Support staff monitor hallways.
• Teachers escort students out of the building.
Procedures for Passing Classes
Students are lined-up and escorted/supervised by a teacher throughout the building.
Students walk to the right of the hallway. Students move quietly through hallways
and stairwells.There will be consequences for chronic violators.
Lunchroom Procedures• Students are escorted to and from the
lunchroom by the teacher.• Students line up quietly.• Students are to place their refuse in the

School Wide Incentives• Power Points Program
– This system allow students deposit (earn) or withdraw (lose) points as a result of behavior. This system empowers students to become responsible for their own behavior.
– Students who have maintained 800+ for the six weeks will receive in class incentives and attend the school wide events.
– Students who have maintained 900+ for the six weeks will act as greeters and receive intercom recognition.
– Students who have maintained 1000+ for the six weeks will have their name place in a drawing for prizes.
– Students who have maintained highest over 1000 for the six weeks will become Mr. / Mrs. Citizenship for the upcoming six weeks.

Intervention Plan
• Anger Management Group counseling for students that are sent to the office repeatedly for fighting, classroom disruption, etc with the school counselor
• Connect Mentor Program for students that are sent to the office repeatedly for chronic misbehavior with an adult of the working community
• Attendance point system is school wide but focus on your chronically tardy students monitored and maintained by the attendance committee
In-School Suspension Plan
• Students are referred to the office by the teacher.
• Students are referred to in-school suspension by the school administration.
• Teachers will be notified via email of students that are referred to in-school suspension.
• The in-school suspension teacher along with the student will collect classroom assignments.
• The referring teacher will have a re-entry meeting with the student during their planning period.
Secondary Intervention Evaluation
