Thank you to our P & C A big heart-felt thank you to the P & C for their hard work in putting together a very successful Mother’s Day Stall. Each student was able to have something special for their Mum on this day. The students enjoyed shopping for their gifts and took great pride in choosing the perfect present to take home. We hope all our Bullimbal Mums had a very special Mother’s Day.

Cold & Flu Reminder As the colder weather has set in, a reminder to all families that if your child is presenting with symptoms of being unwell, you will be contacted to come and collect them. Due to the fragile health of many of our

students, it is crucial that all students remain at home until they are fully recovered from any such conditions. On behalf of all of our students, thank you for your consideration and care in assting to maintain the ongoing health and wellbeing of our wonderful students.

Fourth Year Medical Students This week sees another round of fourth year Medical Students from the University of Newcastle finalise their visits to Bullimbal. We would like to thank Jessie, Anna, Josh and Srilekha for coming and spending time with the students and staff at our School and we wish you all the best with your continued studies.

P & C Update Trivia Night – P&C are holding a Trivia Night Fundraiser for our school. The theme for the evening will be MOVIES! It will be held at the North Tamworth Bowling Club on 4th August with a 7:30pm start. There will be tables of 10 so get your friends and family together, further information will be coming soon!

Pie Drive – Families will receive a Pie Drive Fundraiser Order Form home this week, feel free to ask your friends and neighbours if they would like to buy any pies too. Your order form and money will be due back to school by Friday 22nd June, for delivery to school on Wednesday 4th July. Please come to the school to collect your orders between 11am and 1:30pm please note that orders are not to be taken home on buses. Christmas Raffle – P & C are in full swing with organising their Christmas Raffle. This year we have a major prize of a Family Holiday to Brisbane, including flights, transfers and accommodation! Tickets will be on sale soon.

Riding for the Disabled The junior students have kicked off Riding for the Disabled for 2018. They are all having a fantastic time learning new skills and enjoying the winter sunshine at the Tamworth RDA facility.

National Reconciliation Week and Family Assembly Our next Family Assembly will be held in week 5 on Friday 1st June at 10:40am. The theme of this assembly will be Reconciliation Week. National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Assisted School Travel A friendly reminder from Fiona’s Mini Buses that your Assisted School Travel Bus timetable time for pick up is the buses departure time, not arrival time. Please ensure you are out the front of your house ready for the bus 5 minutes before the time your run timetable states. Buses will only wait for 3 minutes past that time before leaving. Please note, an adult must be present in order for bus staff to drop students off. Your assistance and readiness is appreciated. Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disabilities Our school will soon participate in the NCCD. We will send home information to parents about this process that will involve all students at Bullimbal. This information will be collected to allow the government to develop a better understanding of how students with disability are being supported in schools. Please keep a look out for this information.

This term we have been exploring character traits in the story “The Jewel Fish of Karnak” by Graeme Base. This had led to lots of questions on Egypt. We have looked at the Nile River, pyramids, Pharaohs, mummies. Class 5 are enjoying this unit of work.

It has been a fantastic start to the

term in Class 6! We have been super busy cooking warm winter creations. We made delicious mini pizzas this week. The students cut the ham, drained the pineapple pieces and made their own mini pizzas with their preferred toppings. Check out their photos!
