    Two Excellent Concerts this Week :: Julien Labro Jazz Quartet and Loren & Mark

    Hi Folks.

    Two excellent shows this week.

    On Thursday, two excellent guitarists, Loren and Mark, return to Nighttown. These super talentedguitarists tour the world. They have opened for Tommy Emanuel around the world as well. In addition totheir great guitar vituosity, they pack a lot of personality into their performances and it makes for a funevening.

    Then on Friday, world renown accordion virtuoso, Julien Labro, returns to Nighttown with his new jazzproject. Many of you know Julien from his many performances at Nighttown with Hot Club of Detroit -those were fantastic concerts. Julien's new group is equally fantastic and it really features his amazingaccordion playing in a new level. Julien is also a recording artist on the great recording label, AzicaRecords, which is based here in Cleveland. It will be a fun night at Nighttown as Julien is like family to somany people in the community. This is a JWP "Don't Miss" concert!!

    And don't forget to come hear Moss Stanley on Friday and Jackie Warren on Saturday late night in theMusic Room Bar. Late Night at Nighttown with Moss and Jackie starts at 10:30PM (or after the concert).

    Nighttown Tickets and Seating Policy

    To purchase tickets click here, Do not make anadditional table reservation - it is already included withyour purchased tickets. All seats are General Admission. All seating is based on the time that you arrive for theshow and based on how many people are in your partyand where we have tables of that size. You may besharing a table with other people.

    Nighttown Student Discount PolicyStudents up to age 26 are 1/2 off the regular price. Student priced tickets are only available the night of theshow, are available only at the door, and are subject toavailability. Students must have a photo ID from agenerally-recognized high school, college or university. Full-paying ticket holders get priority on admission andseating. Certain select shows have no discount based onarrangements with the artist. On evenings when thereare two shows (i.e. shows at 7 & 9PM), the discount isonly good for the second show. Students under the age of18 must be accompanied by an adult paying full price inorder to be eligible for the discount.

    Loren and Mark first met in 2005 when they spent a few days working with the greatTommy Emmanuel at Jorma Kaukonens Fur Peace Ranch guitar camp. Mark was acollege kid, just completing his degree in classical guitar at the University of NorthCarolina; Loren was already a seasoned performer, but it was his first serious lookat acoustic guitar. After the workshop, Mark visited Loren and they spent some timepicking guitar and picking each others brains.

    In 2009 they met again in Nashville at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS)convention, an international gathering of hundreds of guitarists. That set the stagefor the 2010 CAAS convention where they were on the schedule of performers.Though they were not originally listed to play on the big Saturday night finale, theywere added to the show due to popular demand from those who heard themthroughout the week.

    Loren and Mark's varied repertoire of original and arranged music consists ofstunning guitar duets as well as songs, giving them a wide appeal.

    Their music is influenced by Bluegrass, Jazz and Western; their style of guitarplaying is largely built upon the thumb-picking techniques pioneered by guitargreats Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed, and their songs feature Lorenssuperb vocals and some beautiful harmonies from Mark.

    Barrigar and Mazengarb have toured extensively in both the USA and in Europe,and their fan base is rapidly expanding. They recorded their first album togetherthe summer of 2011 which won a SAMMY (Syracuse Area Music Awards) for BestAlbum at the Northeast Music Industry Conference, and their second album Onwardalso won a SAMMY. The title track 'Onward' won first place at the InternationalAcoustic Music Awards (IAMA) for Best Instrumental. Their most recent album is livefrom their 2013 tour of Europe

    Loren and Marks live performances feature not only their spectacular technicalgrasp of the guitar, but also their outstanding musicality and ability to bespontaneously creative. The interaction between the two musicians is as much afeature of their shows as is the world-class guitar playing that they both display.
