Patricia Stevenson and Tabitha Bittel tried to match Steidel’s performance but couldn’t measure up. They combined to give up four runs on eight hits. Kimberly Gonzalez and Fiordaliz Martinez each had two hits for Puerto Rico to lead them. St. Petersburg finished round robin play with a record of 1-2 which is good for third in the American League, they will play Houston tomorrow morning at 8 AM at Cal State Dominguez Hills. St. Petersburg pitching faired well against the Los Angeles lineup allowing six runs, three in the seventh, on four hits. That performance wasn’t strong enough though to out-duel Chacera Brantley’s seven innings of one hit softball. Jennifer Hodrick for Los Angeles went 1-for-2 with a run batted, Shannon Tyson was the lone St. Petersburg player to receive a hit. Both teams play one more game this afternoon, Los Angeles takes on Minneapolis at 11 PM here at the Urban Youth Academy. St. Petersburg will travel over to Dolphin Park in Long Beach to take on Puerto Rico. Those games will be the last games of the round robin tournament with playoffs starting tomorrow.

Steidel threw the tournaments first no hitter in the morning and came back in the very next game to dominate once more. Christal Kotchman did what she could against Steidel as she posted a 2-for-3 day scoring the only St. Petersburg run. Puerto Rico finished second in the American League and they will face Philadelphia at 9 AM tomorrow morning at Dolphin Park.
