Though huge compared to most other
cones these are not immense for their
species. However what they lack in size
they make up for it by quality of an of-
ten rough species.

This curious New Zealand land snail is threatened throughout
its limited range. They can live over 20 years, spending the
entire time living in a small area. It feeds on leaves that fall
from trees.

The gastric plates are used by the animal as aids in crushing
the shells of its mollusk prey. The animal is too large to fit in
its shell. It spends it time burrowing in the bottom in search
of food.
