In addition, my team and I are currently analysing all results and judgements and, although I cannot share anything yet (especially as we still await the Year Six SATs results), needless to say I am one very happy Headteacher who is extremely proud of all of the hard work, effort and determination not only shown by the pupils but also the staff. Training children to be confident, independent learners, with enquiring minds, a life-long love of learning and an approach to life that reflects core biblical values and principles.

Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Newsletter No. 35- 21st June 2019

It has been an incredibly busy few weeks here at St. Margaret’s. As many of you will be aware, not only

have we had the Year Six SATS but also there has been statutory testing and assessments in Early

Years, phonics, Year Two and Year Six writing assessments.

I have mentioned about moderation in a previous newsletter and some parents have asked for more information on this. Even

though we are an academy, the local authority still have overall responsibility to ensure that assessments are administered fairly

and in keeping with Government guidance as well as ensuring that judgements made by teachers are fair, honest and accurate. This

year the local authority chose to observe our phonics administration, as well monitor our judgements in EYFS and Year Six writ-

ing. As I am sure you can appreciate, this does place additional pressure on the staff who have been absolutely fantastic through-

out. I am very proud to say that all moderators and assessors have given us a clean bill of health and have commented on: the

professionalism of staff; how well the staff know every child within their care; the quality of the work and observations that was

presented to them; our delightful children; the friendly, caring and nurturing ethos of the school and the wonderful public and

classroom displays.

In addition, my team and I are currently analysing all results and judgements and, although I cannot share anything yet (especially as

we still await the Year Six SATs results), needless to say I am one very happy Headteacher who is extremely proud of all of the

hard work, effort and determination not only shown by the pupils but also the staff.

Very well done to everybody for making St. Margaret’s such a wonderful school.

Mr D Huntingford

Headteacher

Friday 28th June 2019 from 3:15PM - Onwards

Raffle tickets will be on sale from Monday 24th June 2019. They will be sold on a daily basis

in the playground whilst children are being collected from school.

Some of the prizes to be won include; bowling tickets, Nando’s vouchers, Beauty products

and much more.

It will also be a NON-UNIFORM DAY at the cost of £1 per person.

We would appreciate anyone who would be interested in volunteering to help man stalls at

the fete and bring some donations or food.
