The ontruon of the new footbridge wa alled for by a demo-lion of the original ve-pan bridge, whoe abutment were at

on the edge of the river weir and in onit with the ood-pro-teon requirement. A replaement truture i a wooden tru

Brief Description of structure

The ree width o the deck is 2.0m. The structure is suspended on parabol-

ic steel cables with vertical steel hangers, which serve as exible supports

or wooden girders spanning 48.2m. Pairs o pylons anchored by braces

into the gravity abutments provide a support or the cable arches. The

longitudinal distance between the consecutive pairs o pylons is 50.5m.The bridge girders are parabolically cambered to 30cm upward vertical

ofset o the deck in the midspan. Gravity abutments are cast o concrete

C 20/25-2bb while or the stressed suraces it is concrete C 20/25-3b.

The timber used or all wooden members o the bridge superstructure is

grown spruce o class SI. The steel cables and hangers are system Detan

system rom company DEHA. Steel S 235 is used or all other steel con-

struction.
