High Level Task (Not meant to be a complete list of instructions please refer to applicable MOPs/Handbooks)

Antenna installation: RF cabling (PIM Test / Sweep tests) AISG cabling Take pictures that clearly show labeling of devices. Save these in the site close out material.

Provision Antenna Line Devices (RET and/or TMA) Confirm all connected devices are AISG 2.0 Calibrate RET actuators Confirm no alarms Set Tilts on Actuator per RF design Set “RET NAME” in the SECTOR ID or BASESTATION ID fields for each detected RET following

customers convention. Confirm no alarms Confirm TMA is set to Normal mode (not Bypass mode) Export RET/TMA configuration from CCU and/or capture screen shots to store in Site Close

out material.

3.1 Convention: USID

Usage: [USID][CellId1][CellId2][CellId3][AntPos][FrequencyBand][Tech]

Definition: • The Universal Site ID (USID) is intended to describe the location where all the various equipment resides. • Notice there are typically several names associated to equipment in a given site. • It is not tied to a particular technology.

Rules: • USID must be 6 characters long. • If the USID is not 6 characters long, then 0’s must be added at the beginning.

• Example: USID=77412 this is only 5 chars. Need to pad with one 0 at the front so that it becomes “077412” USID=823 this is only 3 chars. Need to pad with three 0’s at the front so that it becomes “000823” USID=109845 this is exactly 6 chars. DO NOT add any 0’s at the front. It should remain “109845”

Typical. Notice no other transmitter sector is connected to this Antenna Segment. CellId2 and CellId3 have “-” to indicate only 1 transmitting sector.

Typically found on bi-sector sites where 1 antenna panel radiates 2 sectors. This example identifies Alpha and Delta transmitting out this antenna segment.

3.3 Convention: AntPos

Usage: [USID][CellId1][CellId2][CellId3][AntPos][FrequencyBand][Tech]

Definition: • AntPos is the Relative Antenna Position

• From inside the triangle looking out, the relative position counts from the left. • Relative position values range from 1 to 5.

3.4 Convention: Freq

Usage: [USID][CellId1][CellId2][CellId3][AntPos][FrequencyBand][Tech]

Definition: • Frequency Band represents the RF frequency of the transmitter connected to this antenna segment. • When multiple frequencies are combined (example UMTS 850 and LTE 700) to an antenna segment, use

the frequency of the newest technology (example LTE 700 was installed after the UMTS 850).

3.5 Convention: Tech

Usage: [USID][CellId1][CellId2][CellId3][AntPos][FrequencyBand][Tech]

Definition: • Tech field describes the technology of the transmitting

equipment connected to the antenna segment. • It is necessary for RF teams to know which Technology

(technologies) is connected to this antenna segment to

ensure the correct tilt is modified.

Commonly used values: G for GSM RETs

U for UMTS RETs

L for LTE RETs

5. Differences between Job Aid and ATT-002-125 v8 documentation

• SECTOR NAMING DIFFERENCE: ATT-002-290-125 v8 has this statement on pg 41:

There are three CellID fields to account for the possibility of multiple carriers being combined and fed to an antenna port. CellIDs (transmitter IDs) can have either a letter or a number as is consistent with the local market’s practice. In the case where there are no transmitters connected to the antenna port being controlled - the character should be a dash “-“.

ALU enforces the “Network Element Naming Standard” document published by ATT ND-00067 Rev. 4.0 006/30/2012. (if there is a later revision that conflicts please advise)

• Powerwave MCU RET NAME Location ATT-002-290-125 v8 has this statement on pg 43:

Insert the RET name in the “Description” field in the “Device: ALD Installation” screen. The name can only be seen in the same screen and not in the MCU main screen.

ALU requires the “RET NAME” to be added into the AISG standard SECTOR field so that it can be viewed. We cannot see the non AISG Description field.

• Kathrein CCU RET NAME Location ATT-002-290-125 v8 has this statement on pg 42:

Insert RET name in the “Device Name” field in the “Device Setup” screen of the CCU.

ALU requires the “RET NAME” to be added into the AISG standard SECTOR field so that it can be viewed. We cannot see the non AISG Device Name field.
