ABSORB SHOCKS BETWEEN BEARINGS AND OTHER ENGINE PARTS THERE BY REDUCING ENGINE NOISE AND EXTENDING ENGINE LIFE.
FORMS A GOOD SEAL BETWEEN PISTON RINGS AND CYLINDER WALLS.

FUNCTIONING OF LUBRICATION SYSTEM
When we crank the engine, crankshaft and camshaft rotates. From the scew gear of camshaft, drive gear of oil pump is also rotated which rotates the driven gear of oil pump.This rotation creats a suction at the inlet port, due to which the oil pump draws oil from the oil sump through rigid internal suction tube And oil starts flowing through different parts of engine as under

From Crank pins to respective connecting rods Big end & small end bearings and piston pins.
From no. 1,3 & 5 main journals to no.1,2 & 3 cam shaft bushes.
From MOG to Rocker arm shaft, where after lubricating the whole valve mechanism the oil fall back to the oil sump.
From the MOG to Turbo-charger and vacuum unit (Through benjo bolt and external pipe line)
After lubricating the whole system while falling of lubricant in the sump it is splashed by the weights of crankshaft which lubricates cylinder walls, pistons, gudgeon pins, Big end and small end bearings.
