PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Prep Parent Information Evening

It was wonderful to meet with parents who have children commencing Prep in 2020 last night.

Confidently led by the Prep Team (Christine, Lynette, Jess and Allison) parents learnt about the

learning programs we offer and our approach to teaching and learning. They also had the opportunity

to look at the work books of our current Prep students and were impressed by the quality of the work

they saw. A big thank you to Felicity and Lauren for entertaining the children on the night.

Parents had lots of questions, and we do hope that we were able to thoroughly answer them all. If you

were unable to attend last night’s meeting or have other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the

school, or come in and see us. We will always do our best to assist.

Parent Requests for 2020 Classes

Parents who have requests for their child’s class placement in 2020 are asked to put it in writing to the

Principal by Friday 15th November. Requests should focus on the social and academic needs of the

child. For example, certain combinations of children may not work well together due to factors at

school or beyond the school.

If you have put in a request in previous years, please do not rely on that to cover the 2020 school

year. A new request needs to be submitted as circumstances are constantly changing. Please do not

rely on verbal discussions with staff, as only written requests to the Principal will be considered.

All requests will be treated confidentially and we will endeavour to cater for these whenever possible

Planning for 2020

As we are beginning to develop our class structures for 2020, it is helpful if families communicate their

intentions with the school. If you have younger children beginning school next year and are yet to

enrol, please do so as soon as possible. Likewise, if you intend to enrol elsewhere please notify us.

Marcus Batt, Principal

FUNDRAISING The closing date for the East Gippsland 2020 Calendar Fundraiser has been extended to Friday 8th

November. If you like to order please contact the office for an order form.

FAMILY STATEMENTS The office has converted to emailing out family statements. This was implemented for the first time

last week and is a more efficient process saving time and paper. If you did not receive your statement

via email we either have an incorrect email address or no email at all. You will receive a paper

statement via your child. (Please contact the office to advise your email address for future

correspondence). Outstanding amounts are now due to be paid. If you have any further queries

regarding your family statement please do not hesitate to contact the office.

VERY IMPORTANT VISITOR MORNING

FRIDAY FUN SINGERS – LOVE YOUR SISTER

There is such a buzz amongst our Singers this term as we

are busily preparing for some show stopping

performances.

We are excited to announce that the Friday Fun Singers

have just been officially invited to perform one song for

Samuel Johnston (from Love Your Sister and Dancing with

the Stars) on Friday 8th November at approximately 10am

outside the Eastwood IGA. This is such a special

experience for singers and we can’t wait to see Samuel’s

reaction to our 150 singers.

Our community is invited to this Love Your Sister performance and to our big performance at the

Bairnsdale Show on November 9th at 2:30pm. Even if you don’t have a child in our singing group

come and cheer us on anyway!

Singers will be walked across the road by staff for the Love Your Sister performance. There is no

parental permission form needed because this excursion is within our local walking area.

We ask that Friday Fun Singers please add a touch of sparkle or colour to their school uniform for the

Love your Sister performance and consider contributing a gold coin donation for the Love Your Sister

fundraising. Please see the Love Your Sister website of Facebook page for further details on their

Cancer Research and Fundraising efforts. For more details about our Bairnsdale Show performance

please see the note that went home to all singers on Friday.

Thank you to our community for your continued support!

Sharon Byrne.
