RMS Lusitania was a British ocean line, holder of the Blue
Riband and brie�y the worlds largest passanger ship.
Launched in 1906 by Cunard Line . The route she served
was from Liverpool to New York.
On 7th May 1915 on her 202nd crossing with 1,959 onboard
she was torpedoed by a German U-boat roughly 11 miles
o� the Irish coast near Kinsale. Sinking in just 18 minutes just
761 survived. The survivors were brought to Cobh and the
bodies of over 100 are buried there. Today the Lusitania
Peace memorial is located in Casement Square Cobh.
The sinking contributed to bringing America into
