Every year in the fall, the commu-
nity comes together and prays for
the teachers and staff of LCHS.
Each staff member writes what
they want people to pray for on a
sheet of paper.
This year, Pastor Frank began the
prayer walk by reading Ephesians
6:11, “Put on the full armor of
God, so that you can take your
stand against the devil’s schemes.”
After this, we walked through the
deal with challenges in the dorm.
When we were done, Pastor
Frank closed with a word of
prayer. The annual LCHS pray-
er walk is one of the most im-
portant events of the year, and I
felt like the entire school was
lifted up during the gathering.
Thank you to all who took part!

On Thursday, September 16, Pastor Frank Lenihan of the MB Church spoke at our school for our chapel. He gave us an introduction to the topic of spiritual warfare and elaborated on some of his personal experiences with it. Pastor Lenihan gave us some insights on his testimony, his sta-tioning in Okinawa, Ja-pan, as a United States Marine, as well as the conflicts and foreign af-fairs leading up to the war in Iraq in the ‘90s. Then, he turned the fo-cus from his side of the
story to spiritual warfare between God and Satan and how the conflict in the Middle East reflected that. Pastor Lenihan ex-plained that the opposite of spiritual warfare is car-nal apathy, which is es-sentially a feeling of con-tentment with our situa-tions, good or bad.
Using Job 1:6-12, Pastor Frank also introduced the key players in this spiritual battlefield. He explained that ultimately, the enemy and his de-mons are always in con-flict with God and His
angels. He also broke down the Hebrew word “Satan,” which actually should be read as “the satan.” He explained that the Hebrew word is essentially a noun equivalent to “the adver-sary” or “the accuser.” Pastor Frank demon-strated from the pas-sage in Job, that God always wins over Satan and that the enemy is under God’s authority.
Another example he gave in Scripture to il-lustrate the enemy’s submission to God was

bonding on the bus be-forehand to be ready for the game. As the game started, the girls showed their Lion pride once again by communicating well, blocking, spiking, and representing our Christian school in the best possible way. Un-fortunately, the team lost, but they kept their
heads up and continued to let this loss be a moti-vate improvement. The scores for the MonDak game were 25-18, 25-1,25,10.

tect and guide us through hard times. Sean also talked about how his relationship with God has improved so much because of his difficulties. He said he did not have a very close relationship with the Lord until his junior year when he decided to take his faith more seriously. After deciding to take his faith more seriously, Sean said he felt the burdens of the world slowly wither away because he had
God by his side to help him fight all of his battles. Sean encour-aged students to take the next step in their faith and trust God to guide them on their journeys in life. We are happy to have

On Thursday, September 23, 2021, Sean Uy pre-sented his senior chapel. Sean’s topic was “Spiritual Warfare.” He talked about how he had felt the effects of spiritual warfare in his life during some difficult times. He made sure to emphasize that throughout these difficult times, God has never left his side. He said that throughout eve-ry hardship, he had felt comfort from God. This shows the importance of us trusting in God to pro-

On Tuesday, September 7, the Lustre Lady Lions had an away game at Wolf Point High School. Upon arrival, the Lady Lions supported the jun-ior high school team while they played hard against Wolf Point. When it came down to game time for the high school, the team demonstrated their Lion strength and fought hard against the Wolf Point Wolves for the game’s duration. The team’s communication, shouting, serving, and receiving have improved tremendously over the season. Unfortunately, the game resulted in a

LCHS got a lot of new faces this year. Mitchel-la, a sophomore from Haiti, is one of them! So far, she said she really likes the community. However, the curriculum is pretty different from her old school, so she is still trying to get the hang of things. She thinks that the teachers and students are very nice. When I asked her, “What made you come up here?” She said that
because she is planning to go to college in Amer-ica, she needs a high school diploma, which
her old school does not award. This is normal in her country. Also, she missed a lot of school days due to Covid. I al-so asked her what she likes to do in her free time. She said she likes to play Phase with her family, listen to music, read Webtoon, and watch detective crime shows. Also, her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, “…for I know the plans I have for you,

plans to give you hope and a future.” Finally, I asked her, “Tell me something about your home?” She said, “We have Joumow every year, we enjoy soccer games, and we cele-brate carnival on our Independence Day, May 13.” Her goals for this year are to get good grades and enough credits. Welcome to LCHS Mitchella!
On Tuesday, September 14, Mrs. Cattell took the juniors and seniors of LCHS to a Montana-based college fair in Glasgow. The students were all excited, not on-ly to skip morning clas-ses but also to explore their future. There were about 20 colleges set up with representatives. They provided infor-mation about the majors and minors that their school offers. Other
schools from surround-ing areas also attended. There were many op-portunities to find what each student would want to do with their fu-ture among the various colleges. The represent-atives were very helpful and provided a lot of information about what they could assist you with if you were to apply to their college. Many of the stands had freebies such as pens, stickers,
and other items. Alt-hough most of the col-leges were in Montana, a few of them reached outside the state, even into Washington.
Along with the colleges were opportunities to enlist in the Military, Air National Guard, and Marines. If you did not know what you wanted to do after high school, the recruiters were more than willing to assist you
in exploring that option. Each student who at-tended can contact the college they are inter-ested in by email or phone.
We want to thank Mrs. Cattell for providing us with an opportunity to think about our future and explore some of the options available to us after graduating from LCHS.

mouths of Ahab’s proph-ets, have to ask permis-sion from God to do what they wish.
Even though his sermon was left unfinished for the time being, Pastor
Frank plans to return and continue this deep dive into the broad con-cept of spiritual warfare. Stick around, stay tuned in, and try to stop by for a chapel or two. We
wouldn’t mind at all if you joined us! We want to say a big thank you to Pastor Frank for giving us his time and some of God’s wisdom on the topic of spiritual warfare.
grade. Finally, the old-est group, Trek, is for kids in seventh and eighth grade. Leaders are also a big part of Awana. Leaders are usually adults from the community or students from LCHS. While things are slowly getting
back to normal from the Coronavirus pandemic, precautions are still be-ing taken. Usually, the clubs in Awana have a snack time at some point during the night. Unfortu-nately, this year, there will be no snack time for the groups. The children are also encouraged to wash their hands and not touch their faces. They seemed excited to be able to play with their friends and participate in their groups. This was such a refreshing sight
for many as it seems life is finally getting back to normal. While the year
has just start-ed, we hope that it can
continue smoothly with-out interruption. We cannot see the future, but we can hope that things will continue to improve!

After being canceled for nearly all of last year, Awana clubs began again on September 15. Awana takes place every Wednesday night from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. It consists of four age groups. The youngest of these is the Cubbies, who are in preschool. The next age group is the Sparkies, which goes from kindergarten to sec-ond grade. The third of these groups is T&T.
