SOCIAL JUSTICE CORNER
The Christian gospel is more than a trans-cendent reality, more than ‘going to heaven when I die, to shout salvation as I fly’. It is also an immanent reality – a powerful liberating presence among the
poor right now in their midst. James Cone
Sacred Heart Parish Hall
We continue to lay plans for Sacred Heart Parish Hall to be restored. Some additional drainage work will soon be done to help pre-vent future flooding. Painting and flooring work will soon continue. We have decided to
go with carpet once again as this will help as a sound barrier as well as give the hall a more comfortable feel. The carpet will be carpet squares so that if minor flooding occurs we can simply clean the carpet as we have in the past or replace any damaged squares. We have been advised that in major flood-ing it would make no difference if it is carpeted or tiled, com-plete floor replacement would be required. The confessional will be restored and the aisle from the eleva-tor to the confessional and hall will be re-carpeted. A wall will be constructed blocking the chapel area creating a hallway and space for confessions. As stated before, the chapel can-not be repaired due to the cost of needed environmental re-pairs. If all goes as planned we hope to be back in operation by Oc-tober. Please keep this project in your prayers. God Bless, Fr. Brian

REAWAKENING, GROWING AND CELEBRATING OUR CATHOLIC FAITH TOGETHER—WELCOMING ALL.
A donation in the St. Vincent de Paul
boxes at the doors of each Church is a nice way of remembering our needy.
Thank you for helping us help others.
CAN YOU HELP?
Now that we are into Summer we are thinking of our Parish Fair at Sacred Heart in November. Members of the Knotty Knitters have been crocheting and
knitting throughout the winter and are hoping that many of you are doing the same. If you are talented in this field we hope you will make items for our fair or if you have yarn you would like to donate, that is most welcome also!
Donations can be dropped off at the Collaborative Offices.
This year’s Sacred Heart Harvest Festival Dates:
Friday, November 1st 3-8:00pm Saturday, November 2nd 9-2:00pm
We are looking for volunteers to help organize and work at donation tables. We will begin to accept donations over the
summer months, watch the bulletin for more info. Please call the Collaborative Offices for more information.
TRAVELING THIS
SUMMER?
Please visit www.masstimes.org and find Mass times at Catholic churches all over the world.
CHILDREN’S CHOIR AT
SACRED HEART
We will be starting the children’s choir with a new leader, Michele Morin, who has been leading music at the 10am Mass. Michele will be helping us to restart the Children’s music ministry.
Do you have a child that enjoys singing and wants to be a part of the Mass, then please talk with Michele. You can get in touch with her in three ways - talk with her after the 10am Mass at Sacred Heart, call her at (781) 346-8475, or email her at [email protected]. Please let us know what questions you have, and help spread the word by letting others know.
Family Faith Formation - July, August, September
We will be continuing to meet on Sunday mornings at both parishes for the rest of July, but will then be taking a break in August as we prepare to restart and kick-off again in Septem-ber. In September the first meetings at each parish will be: Sacred Heart - Sunday, September 8th at 9:30am before the 10am Mass; St. Mary’s - Sunday, September 15th at 10:00am after the 9am Mass. The calendars and registration forms for the 2019-20 school year are now available online and at the front doors of the churches. Please add these dates to your calen-dars and help to spread the word by sharing them and inviting other families, especially with kids who will want to receive First Communion and/or Confirmation. Please email Chris Carmody with any questions call 781-598-4907 or email [email protected].
