Verse 1You lift my heart upWhen the rest of me is downYou, you enchant me, even when you're not aroundIf there are boundaries, I will try to knock them downI'm latching on babeNow I know what I have found- When the narrator feels down, depressed, bored

and alone, his crush lifts his heart, giving him courage, happiness and love towards this person.

- The relationship is worth fighting for so they narrator is willing to deal with the dilemmas.

- The right person for them has been found so they are staying put.

BridgeI feel we're close enoughI wanna lock in your loveI think we're close enoughCould I lock in your love, baby

Continuing the latch analogy, the narrator wants to lock these feelings into a relationship. The notions of “lock” and “latch” also fit many of the intimate actions couples do: hugging, holding hands etc.

ChorusNow I got you in my spaceI won't let go of youGot you shackled in my embraceI'm latching on to you

- Now that they have got their crush right where they want, they’re going to seize the opportunity.

- His/her embrace to this person is similar to being chained up or shackled, giving us an odd metaphor to their imminently boundful connection.

Verse 2I'm so encaptured, got me wrapped up in your touchFeel so enamored, hold me tight within your clutchHow do you do it, you got me losing every breathWhat did you give me to make my heart beat out my chest?- Enamored comes from the French words “en

amour” meaning literally “in love.” Portraying how strong the feelings are.

- Here’s an example of Disclosure working the same effect on a concert crowd with “Latch”. Making them lose their breath and their hearts beating out of their chests.
