Jesus is the Reason for the Season.
How do we make sense of this? We use our Senses!
Sight – With Advent candles lit and Christmas decorations appearing be-
yond our hallowed halls spreading throughout our neighborhoods and
yes… even within our stores… see beyond the commercialism and what
the true Light reveals: the peace and hope of Christmas which inspires us
to see beyond selfishness and ‘senseless’ giving so-as to see our Christ in
the face of others and what they need. Do you reveal Christ to them?
Taste – Christmas foods! In fact, on Sunday, December 10th gathering at
4pm we are reviving the Christmas Heritage Pot-luck Dinner. Bring a
taste of your family’s tradition to share, which makes this Season special.
And a special guest will join us: Adam Putnam, a professional Magician!
This will be extraordinary!
Hearing – Listen to the music of Christmas. It is of the ‘sound of the
soul’… truly unlike any other season of the year. Our choir will inspire
you! And of course, listen to the Word, the stories of prophecies anticipat-
ing and then the “grand/solemn” event of the Divine Nativity.
Touch – Be in touch with someone, many others. Visit family, friends...
and reach out to others who need your presence, perhaps who are sick or
lonely or in need… invite them in!
Smell – The scent of the evergreen reminds us of everlasting life. The
smells of home cooking and fireplaces and the freshness of new fallen
snow somehow hold comfort and joy in balance.
And speaking of Balance – the sixth sense. This is the ‘both/and’ of life.
Your personal time and your time to be with others, family and work, Sa-
cred and Secular, Holy Days and Holidays, giving and receiving, for-
giveness offered and received… this is the Graceful Balance of Christmas
that makes Sense! ~Pastor Walt

Thank you to everyone who helped make the
Holiday Boutique a huge success.
Thanks to Kenny for all of your work on the food and serving area and to John, Rose and Nancy for overseeing Bob’s Attic. Thanks to
all who helped with the planning, set up, donated items for Bob’s Attic, the Bakery sale, and the raffle, to those who worked in the Café and all others who helped during the sale and with clean up. We took in $3,386.00 in addition to the vendor rentals of $1,190. After all the bills are paid our profit should be around $3,500.00. Funds raised from the Boutique are deposited in the Capital Campaign Fund and are used for educational salaries, repairs and projects which are not included in the General Budget.
To help with the Christmas rush we will do a gift card order Sunday December 3, assuming we will have enough orders, and then our normal order date of December 10. December 10 will be our LAST order for the remainder of the year, so please stock up on what you need for your weekly purchases/budget. This is also the last date we can order cards and get them to you before Christmas. We do have cards on hand for Target, Cub and Walmart for immediate pur-chase. These will be available through the end of the year while the supply lasts. Please see Mary Miller to order or purchase cards, or for any questions you may have on the gift card program. Thanks!

Through out the winter
season, many children
and families are in need
of warm outer wear.
If you have new or like
new hats, mittens and
scarves to donate, we
have people who are in
need of them.
Items can be placed on
the mitten tree during the
offering time of worship.
