Cardinals Participate in Special Olympics Maud athletes traveled to New Boston for the Alford’s Athletes / Carson’s Crossing Special Olympics on Friday, May

16. Participants included: Jace Bramlett, Jake Gipson, Kalvin Johnson, Stacy Brown, Marktavin Conkleton, Lamarcus

Moore, Reece Hinderer, Olivia Metcalf, Lisa Shaw, Morgan Shaw, and Sarah Worrell. Events included softball throw,

fifty meter dash, 100 meter dash, and 4x100 meter relay. A special thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this

a great Special Olympics!

Bike riders from ages 4 to 10 years participated in the annual bike-a-thon held on April 26 to benefit St. Jude

Children’s Research Hospital. The 39 participants raised $2,148 in donations for this very important cause. A

special thank you goes to the parents who accompanied the bike riders to the event, collected donations,

and taught their children the value of giving to others. Participants who collected $35, $75, or $150 or more

will receive reward incentives on the last day of school at the Elementary Awards Assembly.
