Basic Operations This section provides an overview of the watch and explains operations that are common to all modes. Use (D) to navigate between modes. Holddown (D) for about two seconds to enter theTimekeeping Mode. To connect with a phone,hold down (C) for about 0.5 seconds.

● (C) is not a crown, so you should notpull on it. It is a button that youoperate by pressing it. Forciblypulling on (C) can cause damage toand malfunction of the watch.

Selecting a TimekeepingMode Digital Display Format

In the Timekeeping Mode, you can use theoperation below to change the contents of thedigital displays.

Note

● Pressing (E) will cause the currentlyselected Home Time City to appearin the dot display. After a fewseconds, the display will return to itsnormal information.

Home Time City

● When the watch connects with aphone by Mobile Link, Home TimeCity information is obtained from thephone. Such information is indicatedby a diamond mark (¿) to the left ofthe city name.

Shifting the HandsHour and minute hand shift moves the handsfor easy viewing of display info.

1. To shift the hour and minute hands, holddown (B) as you press (D).

● This will cause the hour and minutehands to move to a position where theydo not block the digital display.

● The hand shift indicator flashes whilethe hands are shifted.

2. To return the hands to their normalpositions, hold down (B) as you press (D)again.

Note

● This function can be used in anymode.

● While hands are shifted, watchbutton operations are the same aswhen hands are unshifted.

● Changing to another mode returnsthe hands to their normal positions.

● Shifted hands will return to theirnormal positions if no buttonoperation is performed for one hour.

● In all modes, hands shiftautomatically while settings arebeing configured. They move backto their normal positions aftersettings are complete.

Solar Charging

What is solar charging?This watch runs on power supplied from arechargeable (secondary) battery that ischarged by a solar panel. The solar panel isintegrated into the face of the watch, andpower is generated whenever the face isexposed to light.

Charging the WatchWhen you are not wearing the watch, put it ina location where it is exposed to bright light.

While you are wearing the watch, make surethat its face (solar panel) is not blocked fromthe light by the sleeve of your clothing. Powergeneration efficiency is reduced even whenthe face of the watch is blocked only partially.

Remaining Charge and DeadBattery

The charge level is indicated by watch handmovement. Functions become disabled asbattery power goes low.

Important!

● Should battery go low or go dead,expose the face (solar panel) to lightas soon as possible.

Note

● While [R] is flashing, some functionsare temporarily disabled to avoidrunning down the battery.

● Low Battery PowerIn the Timekeeping Mode, the second handjumps at two-second intervals. Other watchfunctions operate normally.

Second hand

If power drops even further, all hands willstopped at 12 o’clock and [CHG] will flash.

● Dead BatteryAll hands are stopped at 12 o’clock and digitaldisplays are blank.

Power Saving FunctionLeaving the watch in a dark location for aboutone hour between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6a.m. will cause the second hand to stop, andthe watch to enter Level 1 power saving. If thewatch is left in this condition for six or sevendays, all hands will stop at 12 o’clock and thewatch will enter Level 2 power saving.Level 1:Second hand stops and digital displays goblank to save power.Level 2:All hands stop moving, Bluetooth connectionis terminated, alarms are turned off, and digitaldisplays go blank to save power.

● Recovering from Power SavingOperation

Press any button or place the watch in a well-lit area to recover from power saving.

Settings

Using Mobile Link witha Mobile Phone

While there is a Bluetooth connectionbetween the watch and phone, the watch timesetting is adjusted automatically inaccordance with the phone’s time setting.

C Pairing the watch with a phoneBefore you can use the watch in combinationwith a phone, you first need to pair them. Oncethe watch is paired with a phone, you normallydo not need to pair them again.

1. Move the phone you want to pair withclose to (within one meter of) the watch.

2. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “CASIOWATCH+” icon.

3. Y Tap “EDIFICE”.

4. Y Tap “ECB-500”.

5. Y Perform operations as instructed by theapp.

● If a pairing prompt message appears,perform the operation shown on thephone screen.

● When paring is complete, the secondhand will move to e to indicateconnection.

● If pairing fails for some reason,perform the procedure again fromstep 2.

Auto Time AdjustmentThe watch can be set to adjust its time settingautomatically each day in accordance with thephone time.● Using Auto AdjustSchedule auto adjust for times the watch andphone are normally close to each other asshown in the illustration below.● While you sleep at night

Important!

● Even if there is no Bluetoothconnection when the auto adjusttime is reached, a connection isestablished and adjustment isperformed automatically. Theconnection is automaticallyterminated after time adjustment iscomplete.

● World Time times are alsoautomatically adjusted.

● Setting the Auto Adjust TimeUse CASIO WATCH+ on the phone to set theauto adjust time.

Note

● Actual adjustment of the watch timesetting will occur about 30 secondsafter the auto adjust time.Example: When 22:00 is set as theauto adjust time, watch time settingadjustment will start 30 secondsafter 22:00.

● Triggering Immediate Time AdjustmentThe watch will adjust its time setting to that ofthe phone immediately after they areconnected with each other. Whenever youwant to adjust the watch’s time setting performthe procedure below to connect with a phone.

1. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “CASIOWATCH+” icon.

2. X Hold down (C) for about 0.5 secondsuntil the second hand points to the R mark.The second hand will move to e when aconnection is established between thewatch and phone, and the time setting ofthe watch will adjust to the phone’s timesetting.

Note

● If the watch’s current time was set bythe CASIO WATCH+ app, there willbe a diamond mark (¿) to the left ofthe time on the watch’s dot display.

Configuring World TimeSettings

FeaturesSpecifying a World Time City with CASIOWATCH+ causes the city’s time to beindicated by the small hour and minute hands.Watch settings can be configured for autosummer time switching for the World TimeCity.

● CASIO WATCH+ World Time letsyou select from amongapproximately 300 cities as theWorld Time City.

Specifying a World Time City

1. Y Tap the “CASIO WATCH+” icon.

2. X Hold down (C) for about 0.5 secondsuntil the second hand points to the R mark.The second hand will move to e when aconnection is established between thewatch and phone.

3. Y Tap “World time”.

4. Y Specify a World Time City by inputting acity name or by tapping its location on theon-screen map.

5. Perform the operation shown on thephone screen. The World Time setting willbe reflected on the watch.

Configuring the Summer TimeSetting

1. Y Tap the “CASIO WATCH+” icon.

2. X Hold down (C) for about 0.5 secondsuntil the second hand points to the R mark.The second hand will move to e when aconnection is established between thewatch and phone.

3. Y Tap “World time”.

4. Y Specify a World Time City by inputting acity name or by tapping its location on theon-screen map.If your currently specified World Time Cityobserves summer time, the summer timeperiod will appear on the display.

5. Y Select the summer time switchingmethod you want to use.

● “Auto”The watch switches between standardtime and summer time automatically.

● “OFF”The watch always indicates standardtime.

● “ON”The watch always indicates summertime.

6. Perform the operation shown on thephone screen.

Note

● When “Auto” is selected forstandard/summer time switching,the watch will switch betweenstandard time and summer timeautomatically. Do not need tochange the time setting manually forchanges between summer time andstandard time. Even if you are in anarea that does not observe summertime, you can leave the watch’ssummertime setting as “Auto”.

● Changing the summer time settingon the watch also will change theCASIO WATCH+ summer timesetting.

● A CASIO WATCH+ screen showsinformation about summer timeperiods.

Swapping Your Current LocationTime and World Time

1. Y Tap the “CASIO WATCH+” icon.

2. X Hold down (C) for about 0.5 secondsuntil the second hand points to the R mark.The second hand will move to e when aconnection is established between thewatch and phone.

Adjusting Hand AlignmentIf the hands are out of alignment even thoughauto time adjustment is being performed, useCASIO WATCH+ to adjust them.

Phone FinderYou can use phone finder to trigger a tone onthe phone to make it easy to find. The tone isforced to sound even if the phone is in themanner mode.

● Do not use this function in areaswhere phone call tones arerestricted.

● The tone sounds at a high volume.Do not use this function whenlistening to phone output overearphones.

phone tone sounds.

3. X Press any button to stop the tone.● You can press any watch button to stop

the phone tone only during the first 30seconds after it starts to sound.

Configuring Watch SettingsYou can use CASIO WATCH+ to specify theBluetooth connection auto disconnect time,auto time adjustment timing and othersettings.

2. X Hold down (C) for about 0.5 secondsuntil the second hand points to the R mark.The second hand will move to e when aconnection is established between thewatch and phone.

Connection

Cancelling a Connection with aPhone

Pressing (C) terminates the Bluetoothconnection and return the second hand to itsnormal operation.

Connecting with a PhoneThis section explains how to establish aBluetooth connection between a phone that ispaired with the watch.● If the watch is not paired with the phone you

want to connect with, perform the procedureunder “CPairing the watch with a phone” topair them.

1. Move the phone close to (within one meterof) the watch.

2. X While the second hand is not pointing toe, hold down (C) for about 0.5 secondsuntil the second hand moves to R.The second hand will move to e, whichindicates that Bluetooth connection iscomplete. The home time city name willalso appear.

Important!

● If you have problems establishing aconnection, it could mean thatCASIO WATCH+ is not running onthe phone. On the phone’s homescreen, tap the “CASIO WATCH+”icon. Then on the watch, hold downthe (C) button for about 0.5 seconds.

Note

● The connection will be terminated ifyou do not perform any operation onthe watch or phone for a fixedamount of time.To specify the connection limit time,perform the following operation with:use CASIO WATCH+ to select“Watch settings” n “Connectiontime”, and then specify a setting of 3minutes, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes.

Entering the Watch Airplane ModeUse the Airplane Mode to disable Bluetoothradio wave emissions.Enter the Airplane Mode when in a hospital, inan aircraft, or anywhere else where radio waveemissions are restricted.

● The functions below are disabled inthe Airplane Mode.ー Auto adjustー Phone finderー Bluetooth connection

X Hold down (D) for about five seconds, untilthe Airplane Mode indicator appears.● Each time (D) is held down for about five

seconds, the watch will enter or exit theAirplane Mode.

UnpairingTo unpair the watch from a phone, delete thepairing information from CASIO WATCH+, thephone, and the watch.

● Deleting Pairing Information fromCASIO WATCH+

1. X If the watch is connected with a phone,press (C) to terminate the connection.

3. Y Tap the CASIO WATCH+ j icon.

4. Y In the “Previously registered watch” list,tap the watch you want to unpair.

5. Y Tap “Delete pairing registration”.

● Deleting Pairing Information from aPhone

iPhone Users

1. Y On the Home Screen, tap “Settings” n“Bluetooth”.

2. Y Tap g next to “CASIO ECB-500”.

3. Y Tap “Forget this Device”.

4. Y Tap “Forget Device”.This deletes the watch’s pairinginformation from the phone.

Android Users

1. Y On the App screen tap: “Settings” n“Bluetooth”.

2. Y Tap j next to “CASIO ECB-500”.

3. Y Tap “Unpair”.This deletes the watch’s pairinginformation from the phone.

4. Y Scroll the status bar downwards andopen the notification panel.

5. Y Tap e (Bluetooth) to disable Bluetooth,and then re-enable it.

Note

● Note that the actual operation youneed to perform depends on the typeof phone you are using. For details,see your phone documentation.

● Deleting Pairing Information from theWatch

1. Hold down (D) for about two seconds toenter the Timekeeping Mode.l Navigating Between Modes

If you purchase another phoneYou need to perform the operation belowwhenever you want to establish a Bluetoothconnection with a phone that is different fromthe one you are currently connected with.

1. Unpair the watch from your current (old)phone.l Unpairing

2. Pair the watch with your new phone.l Perform pairing again.

Connecting a Different Watch to aPhone

You should perform the steps below beforepairing a different watch with the phone, suchas after you buy a new watch.

● Pairing the Watch with a Phone

1. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “CASIOWATCH+” icon.

2. Y In the upper left corner of the screen, tapx.

3. Y On the list that appears, tap the brand ofthe phone you want to connect with.

4. Y On the list that appears, tap the modelname of the watch you want to connectwith.

● From this point, follow the instructionsthat appear on your phone’s screen tocomplete the pairing operation.

● Connecting with a Watch that is AlreadyPaired

1. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “CASIOWATCH+” icon.

2. Y Swipe the screen to scroll throughavailable watches and display the one youwant to connect with.

3. X Perform watch operations inaccordance with the instructions thatappear on the phone screen.

Important!

● A phone can be connected with onlyone watch at a time. To connect toanother watch, you need toterminate the current connection.

Watch SettingsWhile the watch is connected to a phone, it willautomatically adjust its date and time settingsto those of the phone. If the watch is notconnected to a phone, use the procedurebelow to adjust its date and time settings.Getting readyPerform this procedure in the TimekeepingMode. Use (D) to navigate to the TimekeepingMode.l Navigating Between Modes

Timekeeping Mode

Specifying a Home Time CityUse the procedure in this section to select acity to use as your Home City. If you are in anarea that observes summer time, you can alsoenable or disable summer time.

Important!

● The World time will not be correct ifyou select the wrong city as yourHome Time City.

Note

● Your watch lets you select fromamong 40 cities for your Home TimeCity. If you are in a location that is notincluded the watch’s built-in cities,select a city with the same time offsetas your current location. For a list ofbuilt-in cities, see the “City NameList”.

1. Hold down the (A) button for about twoseconds.[SET] will appear first, followed by theHome Time City name.

2. Use (B) and (E) to scroll through citynames until the one you want to use asyour Home City is displayed.

● Holding down (B) or (E) scrolls citynames at high speed.

3. To change the summer time setting, press(D).

● If you don’t want to change the summertime setting, press (A) twice to exit thesetting screen.

● Stopping Radio Wave Emission by ThisWatch

The watch is emitting radio waves wheneverthe second hand is pointing to e (Bluetoothconnected) or R (Bluetooth connectionstandby). Even if the second hand is notpointing at e or “R”, the watch will attempt toconnect with a phone once a day to update itstime settings.When in a hospital, on an aircraft, or in anyother area where the use of radio waves is notallowed, hold down the watch’s (D) button forabout five seconds to enter the AirplaneMode.

The time is adjusted automatically at the autoadjust time specified with CASIO WATCH+.The watch will also automatically sync its timewith the phone time when they are connected.
