Total – Utopie pragmatiche
mero servizio mercantile.
all’ambiente, dalla forma alla strategia, dall’enciclopedia all’aereoporto.
Ma total è anche il senso di una visione del progetto: aperto e modulare,
adattabile e sistematico, tecnico e flessibile. Il design è una consapevo-
lezza problematica, è la ricerca nella continua verifica, è lo smontaggio
e il ri-assemblaggio.
L’utopia lenta di Wim Crouwel, Friso Kramer, Benno Wissing e Dick e
Paul Schwarz resiste e continua a produrre.

The 21st century demands
ongoing personification from
organisations, in which everyone
becomes an integral part of the
output. Communication is no
longer an accompaniment, but
emerges out of this participa-
tion. Under these circumstances
of continous interaction, a well-
grounded and self-reflective
starting point is necessary.
Hiding behind brands is no longer
sufficient. Organisations need
to rely on their identities and
involved ambitions.
La scommessa dell’Italia é unire
il pensiero romantico, l’atto
creativo come ispirazione geniale,
ad una visione socioeconomica
che permetta di recuperare.
Un’Italia che deve puntare su
quella capacità di adattamento
e trasformazione che permette
di cogliere opportunità di lungo
termine.

Total Identity introduces the
‘Rheinland-based’ stakeholder
model in its identity thinking as
an alternative to shareholder-
driven branding strategies.
Content becomes more important
than differentiation. This
European approach is based on
reliability, responsibility and
authenticity. Finally, the organ-
isation is not a money-making
machine but a social necessity.
The goal is relevance – thus, the
difference between the organi-
sation itself and the brand will
diminish.
Il sogno europeo é un concetto
che si basa sul territorio, sui
diritti civili, sulla difesa dell’am-
biente – sulla qualità di integrare
l’unità nella differenza. A livello
globale rimane una sfida che
vede come protagonisti Venere e
Marte.

Together with the client, Total
Identity conceives the concerns
of the various stakeholders for
the organisation. Corporate
social responsibility has to
be introduced from a holistic
perspective. Thus, profit-maxim-
isation and responsibility are no
longer two different goals. It is
about creating possibilities to
interconnect business and ethics
in one conjoined option – and to
strengthen that option.
Le organizzazioni che credono
nella responsabilità sociale delle
imprese, puntano sull’innova-
zione, sulla costruzione ed appro-
vazione di un largo consenso da
parte di tutti i gruppi di interesse,
interni ed esterni. Perché l’in-
novazione possa tradursi in un
processo di crescita economica, è
necessario lasciare lo spazio per
un avantgarde socioculturale.

People want beautiful organi-
sations, but what is beautiful is
an individual opinion. Aesthetics
is subordinated to perception.
In everyday life, Total Identity
experiences that the most
passionate conversations
emerge while discussing what is
beautiful. It is in the willingness
to define what is beautiful
together, that the ambitions of an
organisations are found. Finally,
the beautiful is created out of
ambition. This is identity.
L’estetica come elemento
artistico che non è solo soprav-
vissuto al passaggio dal processo
artigianale a quello industriale ma
come valore centrale del made
in italy. Questa è la funzione del
design italiano per chi pone al
centro della propria espressività
la sensibilità al bello.

Total Identity focuses on
economic and cultural issues.
Based on them, the identity
and ambition of the client are
analyzed to support change
management and transactions.
Total Identity operates as an
external think-tank, and based
on various disciplines, provides
for business scenarios as well
as operational support. In order
to offer integral management
services, Total Identity combines
strategy with creativity.
Il soggetto che agisce in modo
isolato, per quanto forte e vir-
tuoso, non può sviluppare tutte
le capacità richieste dal sistema
e dall’ambiente in cui vive. Tale
insegnamento ci giunge dalla bio-
logia e dall’esperienza delle reti
globali di comunicazione. Solo l’in-
terazione tra agricoltura, turismo,
meccanica, sartoria, artigianato
artistico e paesaggio, ovvero tra
soggetti con competenze assai
specifiche, è capace di gene-
rare identità forti. Queste identità
emergono da un processo di tra-
sformazione e non da un approc-
cio orientato alla conservazione.
