Day 1 - Sunday, August 16 -Another great tour departs searchingAmerican Industries, looking for theinnovative products and methods ofmanufacturing these entrepreneurscreated. As we position ourselves fortouring we overnight in Bloomington,IL at a DoubleTree by Hilton. You’llfind a warm welcome in this modern

hotel and indulge in a delicious, warm chocolate chip cookie onarrival. Tonight’s dinner is at the hotel’s restaurant TGI Fridays.(D)

Day 2 - Monday, August 17 - Our first stop today is an earlylunch at the original MCL Restaurant & Bakery in Indianapolis.From their famously flaky pie dough to their gravies and thedumplings and chicken & noodles, they prepare all foods in-house from scratch. Because they know, as do their guests,that homemade food tastes better and is more nourishing. MCLwas founded by Charles “Mac” McGaughey in 1950 and to thisday is owned and operated by a third generation of theMcGaughey Family.

This afternoon, we take a laparound the Indianapolis MotorSpeedway oval from the original1909 track surface at the start/finish line. We learn about the tradition of “Kissing the Bricks” aswe tour the most hallowed groundin worldwide motorsports. Whenthe track was first completed the surface consisted of 3.2 million paving bricks. Over time thesewere replaced by asphalt, with the exception of a 36-inch strip ofthose original bricks at the start/finish line. Today it is a traditionfor the winning team to Kiss the Bricks” after their victory.

Driving east from Indianapolis, we visit the Warm Blow CandleOutlet. This is a 100% Hand Dipped in America CandleCompany. They take great pride in signature lumpy, bumpyhandmade candles.

Tonight we check into the Drury Hotel Dayton, OH. Enjoy their5:30 Kickback Served every evening from 5:30-7:00p a rotatingmenu with such as Chicken fingers, baked potatoes, buffalo-stylechicken wings, charbroiled meatballs, fresh carrots and celery, egg rolls, garden salad, hot dogs and more. Day 3 - Tuesday, August 18 -Morning travel takes us to JacksonCenter, OH and The AirstreamFactory. We have an in-depth, two-hour walkthrough of the actual production plants where they makesilver bullet trailers. You'll see howthey carefully craft, rivet, and buildtravel trailers by hand, as well as fine

quality touring coaches on Mercedes-Benz sprinter van chassis.Note: You’ll be touring the factory floor, 1 mile in length. Hearingand eye protection is required and will be provided for you, butyou must wear your own closed-toe shoes.

Lunch at Bob Evans Casual American chain started on an Ohiofarm it is known for family-style meals & a country vibe. Eachpassenger will receive a Bob Evans gift card.

We have two more contrastinglyunique factory tours this afternoon.First is The Phoenix Bat Company,located just outside Columbus,Ohio. They have been making premium rock maple, yellow birch,and northern white ash bats forover 22 years. Born in a garage,Phoenix now produces state of-the-

art,custom wood bats in this facility. In 2000 their bats wereapproved for use by major league baseball players, many ofwhom who prefer Phoenix Bats for their tremendous pop andpower.

Following that you have a guidedtour of The American WhistleFactory. Since 1956, AmericanWhistle has produced our classicbrass whistles. Day 4 - Wednesday, August 19 -Today’s feature is an Ohio AmishCountry Back Roads Tour. We willHeini's Cheese Chalet first. Foodieswill love the unique experience ofthe Copper Kettle Room with sampling and demos of Jams,Jellies, Smoked Meats, sauces aswell as Fresh Roasted Peanuts.

Then it’s a visit to Wendell August Forge known for its metal production. Artisans have been handcrafting metal giftware, oneat a time, by hand, since 1923. Followed by lunch, a plated mealat the Berlin Farmstead Restaurant.

This afternoon you will shop at the 60,000-square-foot facilityWalnut Creek Foods warehouse, serving more than 1,400 wholesale customers who sell Walnut Creek Food products intheir stores.

Rising above the mist-covered farmland of Amish Country is theCarlisle Inn of Sugarcreek. Below, you’ll likely find a slow paradeof just milked Jersey cows headed for pasture.

Day 5 - Thursday, August 20 -Another unusual manufacturer is onthis morning’s schedule at WartherCutlery. At the age of five Ernest“Mooney” Warther found his firstpocketknife and began whittling. As ateenager he began carving in walnut wood and bone. He becamefrustrated with store-bought knives

because they would not stay sharp, so he began to design andmake his own. He researched what steel to use and created hisown techniques form tempering and sharpening a steel blade thatwould keep its sharp edge even while carving in hard materialslike walnut and bone and later when carving ebony and ivory.

Luncheon today comes with aWinery Tour & Tasting. In less thana decade, Gervasi Vineyard hasgone from one family’s dream to adestination for lovers of fine wineand dining experiences. It is now aTuscan-inspired winery resort givesyou many luxurious reasons to visit.The moment you pass under itsarched gateway you are transported to an ambience that feelslike an Italian village. Enjoy luncheon in the Villa Grande, there iswine tasting during lunch and a tour of the Crush House Wineryafterwards.

No winery tour would be complete without chocolates. We experience the exquisite aroma of fresh chocolate and get anexclusive look at conveyers with luscious delights of every kind aswe go behind the scenes at Harry London and Chocolates. Day 6 - Friday, August 21 - With our bus pointed homeward wefirst visit the J.M. Smucker Company Store. For 120 years,Smuckers trusted brands and quality products, has helped to ake family meals memorable.

Today, they continues this proud tradition by showcasing productsand merchandise from the Company's family of brands.

Next we visit Grandpa'sCheesebarn for an early lunch.Began in the early 1900’s whenGrandpa Yarman sold his only possession, a portable RCA radio,for his first wheel of Ohio Swiss &started a meat and cheese housenamed, “Yarman’s” in West Salem,Ohio. Today Grandpa’s grand-

daughter, Mistie Ankenman has the reins of Grandpa’sCheesebarn & Sweeties Chocolates now located in Norton, Oh.With over 40 years in business, they continue to welcome visitorsdaily from all over the globe, it a sweet dream come true!

After lunch we will depart for the Courtyard by Marriott hotel inChicago for a two night stay. This stylishly modern hotel locatedin the heart of River North, steps off Michigan Avenue with manymajor attractions nearby. Enjoy dinner on your own. (B,L)

Day 7 - Saturday, August 22 - Thismorning you will learn aboutChicago's Lakefront, 26 miles ofbeautiful shoreline dedicated forpublic use. You will explore themagnificent parks of the downtownarea, including Grand Park withsplendid formal gardens andBuckingham Fountain, andMillennium Park, which contains several icons of Chicago, theCrown Fountain, Cloudgate, affectionately referred to as the"Bean." You will see the Gehry designed Pritzker Pavilion andbridge. You will head into Museum Campus to see the greatbuilding and an amazing view of the Chicago skyline, all Made inAmerica.

The day also included a 75-minute narrated tour of the ChicagoRiver where you will experience the history of Chicago from thisunique perspective. After cruise you will also get a chance totravel up fabled North Michigan Avenue and see why this is aworld-famous shopping destination. You will also head up to 360Chicago-The observatory at the top of 875 North MichiganAvenue, formerly known as the John Hancock Building.

Then visit Water Tower Place and enjoy lunch on your own atFoodlife, a food court offering a variety of menus. If you finishearly, will have a time to shop for souvenirs or a treat for yourself.

Dinner is at Tommy Gun's Garageand includes a show providing alight hearted look at prohibition.(B,D)
