Engine manufacturer builds business to meet future fleet fuel requirements

An engine manufacturer wanted to assess the change in volume and type of vessels travelling through Emission Control Areas. They wanted to understand the changes in traffic flow and how this impacts the engines they design and produce.

We were able to provide full details of each vessel that had sailed in the two ECAs since January 2014. Both the movements and vessel characteristics data allowed them to understand the impact of the ECA zones and how their customers were changing their operations.

The engine manufacturer were better placed to develop their products within environmental regulations requirements and the needs of their customers.

This data feed is now systematically ingested into the banks internal system and allows them to monitor the fleet for sanctioned port callings. The data also includes port callings and departures from the exclusive relationship that Lloyd’s List Intelligence holds with the Lloyd’s Agency Network. The data feed shows the bank port callings even when a vessel turns off its AIS to call at a sanctioned port.

The bank are able to complete their due-diligence with confidence and avoid costly fines and reputational damage.
