Tournament Director January 2019 - The Sand Trap Page 2

Welcome to Sacrament MAGA’s 51st Annual Golf Season

I hope you and your family had a happy and safe holiday. February is the beginning of our chapter’s golf year. The Coupon books and Schedule cards are at the printers, so as soon as I get them they will be mailed to you. I know that sending a check along with your coupon is a problem for some members who do not have a checking account. If this is a problem, please call me at (916) 427-1183.

I hope you enjoy the tournaments scheduled for you this year. All of the tournaments are shotgun starts so that you can spend time after, visiting and getting to know your fellow MAGA members, while waiting for the final scores. All of the prizes are given out as soon as possible. We are very fortunate to have Reene Smith and Stephanie Hernandez doing the scoring and Joyce Baral, our treasurer, and I preparing the gift certifi-cates and prize money.

2019 Officers Several members were contacted in hopes of adding new officers to the Executive Board and Board of Direc-tors. Some of our elected Board members agreed to stay on for another year. We are very thankful to them for all the work they do to keep our chapter of MAGA going.

We do have a young lady who was our Junior Golfer, a regular member, went off to College, got her degree and is now a member of the Board of Directors. We welcome Jamie Kirk as a member of the Board and thank her for committing her time.

Congratulations to the 2019 MAGA Officers!

In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang, ("dark-bright", "negative-positive") describes how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.
