Besides its 8.5km of beaches and warm climate all year round, Oliva also
stands out for its unique surroundings in the Valencian Community, which
give it a status and beauty that are hard to find elsewhere in the world.
These extraordinary surroundings, composed of beaches, mountains,
humid zones, and well-preserved natural and cultural spaces, make
Oliva a perfect place for tourists who are looking for more than sun and
sand to help them relax.
As visitors, active tourism has become one of our main criteria when
searching for a holiday destination. Nowadays, we expect more and
more from the places we visit, and Oliva is ready to meet the demands of
the most active people out there. Whether you’re travelling solo or with
a guide, Oliva welcomes Active Tourism with open arms. To the many
visitors who choose us year upon year, we hope this magazine fulfils its
goal of promoting all that our city has to offer.

Extraordinary natural surroundingsOliva has preserved its medieval charms,
churches, streets, stately homes, monuments,
and museums in the heart of the city, for
everyone looking for days filled with historical
and cultural immersion during their trip. These
historical rewards, coupled with the climate and
extraordinary surroundings, constitute a whole
range of possibilities for every day you spend in
the city.
A walk through Oliva reveals long beaches with
fine sands that warm your feet, clear, shallow
waters, certified-quality services, and well-run
facilities along the whole length of the coast,
establishing them as some of the best beaches
in this region of the Mediterranean.
But the surroundings don’t just offer sea and
sand. Wherever you look, you’ll see open spaces
full of natural life, including ancient sand dunes,
a marsh with pure water, the deep Riu Bullent
river, and the Font Salada Spring, which can
relieve your stress with just one touch of its cool
waters.
Wellbeing, health, and experiencesThese are just some of the benefits offered
by active tourism, besides the adventure,
excitement, adrenaline, and endless amount of
experiences you’ll take home in your suitcase at
the end of your trip. All you need to do is wish
it, and the rest will come easy, thanks to this
Active Tourism guide.
Native fauna and flora on the dunesOliva understands how important it is to the
ecosystem to preserve the dunes on the
beaches, which is why we encourage visitors to
respect them and enjoy them responsibly and
healthily. This is an ideal place to go for a trip,
whether for a walk, a run, a bike ride or a horse
ride, especially if you keep your eyes peeled for
the native fauna and flora to be appreciated at
every step.

Marjal Natural Park The Oliva Tourist Information Centre is one of
the Collaborative Information Points (CIPs) for
El Montgó Natural Park, near Denia and Xàbia,
as well as for Marjal Natural Park. Classified
as one of the Parcs Naturals by the Valencian
Community, this natural spot is bursting with
life. The air here is fresh and pure, and together
with the beautiful colours of nature, you will be
swept up and transported to an entirely green
and natural world, with no buildings, where the
only sound is that provided by the surroundings.
This humid zone has great environmental value,
and is formed of underground aquifers that
surface here in springs, lending water to the
two rivers that flow through the marsh, the Riu
Bullent to the north and the Riu Racons to the
south, both deep and fast-flowing.
The Font SaladaThis spring has been recognised for its health
benefits, particularly for its skincare properties.
Coupled with the fact that its water remains
warm all year round, its healing qualities make
this a truly special place for those who come in
search of its benefits.
It is a remote place between the mountain
and Marjal Natural Park, enjoyed by locals and
visitors who come throughout the year. They’re
always careful to respect their surroundings,
given that this is such a calm and secluded
place.
El Montgó Natural ParkIf you turn your gaze to the south, you can see the
753-metre-high mountain that was declared a
Natural Park in 1983. El Montgó has a surface
area of 2117 hectares, shelters more than 650
species of flora and vegetation, and welcomes
numerous species of fauna that live and grow
in the surrounding area. It is full of potential
experiences for curious and active visitors,
located just a few kilometres from Oliva.

Choose your path along more than 800km of trails and 1000km of roads.
At eXtrem, the trails are ready for any challenge you might throw at them, from relaxed family outings to the most complex and daring excursions. The team, made up of Domingo, Víctor, and Jordi, has been striving for years to highlight the benefits of the routes and paths in the extraordinary surroundings of Oliva. Driving, mountain biking, hiking, strolling… The choice is yours, and the team is ready to offer you any experience you desire. The natural surroundings, criss-crossed with paths, make every moment a precious snapshot of your holiday.

The team also likes to combine sporting activities with a cultural, historical, or (if the opportunity arises) gastronomic component. And if that wasn’t enough, they also offer activities for children, including geocaching and gymkhana with GPS, which provides a challenge and an intimate knowledge of the natural surroundings of Oliva.
TNT de les VallsThis is the top mountain biking route offered by eXtrem Tracks, recognised as one of the toughest trials in the state. Four days, a heart-stopping scramble, an 8000-metre descent, and a 275-kilometre journey. A challenge only for the most daring.
The wind here is just right for you to kitesurf safely and become a true “rider”.
When you feel kitesurf fever coming on, all you need to do is consider the wind. If it’s good, get organised and don’t miss a single opportunity to take out the kite, board, and wetsuit, and hit the surf.
SafetyThis is the word you’ll hear the most often during the first kitesurf lesson offered by the people at Ocean Academy and Kite Oliva. The first class is theory- and practice-based, and takes place on dry land. Even if you think it’s impossible to handle such a huge kite, after two more classes you’ll be riding the waves on your own board.
The first lesson teaches you how to use all the safety systems required in this activity, those concerning both yourself and your equipment. It’s important to pay close attention to assembly and final collection of the equipment, because this ensures that the sport
From land to sea
07OLIVA ACTIVA
can be practised correctly and you can enter the water quickly and safely.
Power and directionThese two concepts help you understand how to navigate your board and make your kite obey you at every turn. It’s important to be alert during the first lessons in the water, because there are many points to remember at the beginning. But once you’ve mastered the power and steering of the wind window, all you need to do is be swept up and enjoy the water, the waves, and of course the wind.
ExpertsIf you’re a beginner to this sport, you’ll be looking for an expert professional to teach you, and Oliva, you won’t just find the best in the field, but people who are also passionate about their work. You’re guaranteed to have a great experience and quick results.Kite zone: navigable width 400 m. Rabdells beach (access C/Sàsser).

The space enjoys an extraordinary location, a stone’s throw from Marjal Natural Park and very close to the ancient dunes of Oliva (perfect for family outings), as well as being in the perfect position for thrilling experiences like the mountain walks in La Vall d’Ebo and El Baranc de l’Infern. And if you’re looking for an even greater challenge, the team can join for an experience that meets your greatest expectations, with a two-day mule trekking journey through La Vall d’Alcalà.
Let yourself be carried along by the special, beloved animals that form part of the family at Centro Hípico Oliva, alongside the horses’ owners, who regularly stay in the facilities.
Náutica Marcel is located inside Oliva’s Club Náutico and offers services including boat rental, plus all the amenities needed for exploring, fishing, travelling, crossings, farewell parties, birthday and wedding celebrations, and anything you can think of. Let your seafaring dreams come true on board the beautiful boat that has carried its owner, Marcel, far and wide.
FishingEven though Marcel offers a wide variety of services, it is in the world of fishing that he has carved his niche. Since high seas fishing is not very common, he is recognised on a national and international level, and has managed to guide important people from all over the world to stunning locations, catching rare species and

You can experience coastal trolling, deep-sea trolling, high-seas trolling, and big-game fishing – the choice is yours, because Marcel is skilled at all these methods, and is always delighted to share his knowledge with any fellow travellers who want to spend an unforgettable day in close contact with the sea.
Don’t just settle for the picture – we assure you that the real thing is even more spectacular.

And if you’re looking for an experience where the wind plays a role, ask about the Club’s sailing course. You’ll need coordination, agility, and foresight to master the techniques of sailing through the water, and both young people and adults can learn these skills right here.
The facilities also offer swimming lessons, fishing activities, and other services, but the most significant feature is the 350 berths where vessels of different lengths can be moored and refuelled.
The common areas for members and users of the Club constitute a circle of calm and tranquillity in the extraordinary surroundings of Oliva, known as the Playa de la Mitja Galta.

Many of the visitors who come to the facilities at Oliva Nova Golf are searching for just that.
Its location and scenic surroundings are what makes this place special. Besides, proper use of the course requires everything to be kept green and well cared for. As soon as you enter the Casa Club space, where the reception, offices, and restaurant are situated, you’ll be amazed by the endless greenery that stretches as far as the eye can see.
Golf tourismPeople searching for great sporting experiences on the golf course can be classed as a new category of tourist. They spend their holidays at areas with golf courses, and when it comes to deciding on a destination, they tend to try new experiences in relatively nearby areas.
The playing fieldOliva Nova offers an 18-hole course and 50-hectare extension designed by Severiano Ballesteros in 1996, with lightly sloping greens and water obstacles that make the game more interesting and strategic. The course also features a driving range and a “Pitch and Putt” 5-hole par-3 course to serve as practice before the big game. The field has already witnessed up to five hours of play and a total 10 kilometres walked.
Beginning to playOliva Nova Golf offers lessons for those wishing to learn how to play, while those who already call themselves golf-lovers are of course able to pick up the equipment needed to play alone, access the facilities, and practise in a pleasant space surrounded by green, where every footstep breathes with quiet calmness.

If you like adrenaline and are looking for excitement, this is definitely a good choice.EVO, Honda, and F400 are just some of the categories of competition offered by Karting Vives on the road from Oliva to Denia, all year round and exclusively for members of the Club. Witness the pure excitement, stamina, and obsession with being the fastest one on the track. Enjoy the prizes and celebrations after a win, surrounded by family, because the owners and members that gather in this sporting arena are exactly that.
If they want, members can buy their own karts and park them in the specially-made stalls. During competitions, each participant is given a kart at random to avoid favouritism or handicaps, and once on the track, everything rests on the preparation and skills of each driver. Only three will climb the podium, open the bottle of champagne, and toast their success, but the others can still join the party and share their victory in this special space.
Marta García (16 years old)Renault Sport Academy driver, F4 Spain
How did your career begin?I’d always loved the world of motorsports, and after trying it out a few times, I asked my dad to buy me a kart so I could start training with Alex Vives. I’ve been racing nationally and internationally since I was ten. I’m now in the young drivers programme at Renault Sport
Academy, and I’m going to F4 Spain.
What does this jump from go-karting to Formula racing involve? The first thing that changes is your perspective on the track. In Formula, you need to be more physically strong and adapted to the size and speed of the car. My life has changed too. Renault organises my training camps in England and the races I participate in. I train every day in the gym, I study, I practise in the kart every week, and I’ve also scheduled training on the Formula track to help me adapt.
Have you got your eye on Formula 1?I’d love to get there, and I can see myself in Formula 1 in the next few years. All I need is my willpower and some support from sponsors.
