Colour Scheme: The colour scheme which is used is simple similar to XXL’s double page spread both use a solid colour. However Vibe magazine have opted for a dull grey colour to contrast with the artist making the main image stand out more. The use of the colour red is made visible for the key words. The main text is written in black which clearly stands out against the white background on the right page.

Main Image: The main image used is once again of the artist featured in the article. The shot which has been used is of eye level, this is to make the reader feel at a similar level to the artist. The artist is once again facing away from the camera and towards his main quote, this diverts the readers attention to the article. The artist Soulja Boy is shown to be blanketed in tattoos, this is symbolic of the genre of music he makes, tattoos in the music industry are often associated with the hip hop industry which usually feature gangs. The use of repetition on the word “Swag” is to suggest what the article may be about.

Main Body Text: The editor has conventionally started the article off with a drop letter this is too show it is the start of the article and also to draw in the readers attention. The use of the colour red is important as it is the only bright colour used throughout the whole article. Once again the article has been split into two columns offering the reader ease whilst reading. Furthermore the use of columns makes the overall appearance more kept together and neat.

Main Quote : “LIFE OF A SHOOTING STAR!” This quote has been written in a graffiti style font which is similar to the tattooing on the artists face. This is symbolic as it shows the writing on the artists face and the quote have something in common. Furthermore the use of a large font and the colour red is eye-catching as it stands out against the dull background and font on the page. The use of the colour red on the word “Shooting” suggest the article may involve blood and violence as shooting is often referred to guns and the colour red is used to represent blood. Logo: The double page spread also includes a logo

which is conventional of many music magazines. However the full logo has not been used but instead a abbreviation is used. This is to remind this reader the magazine is by the certain company and also to ensure brand identity throughout.
