Magazine evaluation – Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

The picture to the right displays a list of different artists from the genre of Indie/Alternative. As I mentioned, a magazine needs to have names of bands/artists that are famous within that genre. Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Keys are both bands which are famous throughout the community of Indie/Alternative rock.

The fictional band “Missing Cat” get a mention in the contents page of my magazine. Roode Pelikaan and The Jacobeans both get mentions in the contents page.

My contents page also hits the conventions of a real music magazine, as I stick to keeping some of the most noticeable features that they include. These features include:

• A subscription deal.• A weekly review.• Featured, News and

Regulars sections.• Small and brief descriptions

of the an article relating to a picture.
