LE MOT DE LA PRÉSIDENTEChers amis,
Le printemps s’annonce bien à Christchurch et avec la nouvelle saison c’est le temps du renouveau. Il en est de même à l’Alliance Française. La plupart d’entre vous ont pu rencontrer lors des 3 dernières semaines notre nouvelle Volontaire Internationale, Morgane Jaffry, à qui nous souhaitons la bienvenue et avec qui vous pourrez mieux faire connaissance lors de la permanence de mercredi midi.
De nouveaux programmes et de nouveaux cours seront développés dans les mois à venir. N’oubliez pas les nouvelles activités que Mélusine Labbaye anime avec enthousiasme. Au programme ce mois-ci à la maison de l’Alliance: le ciné-club, une soirée francaise pour les étudiants de l’université de Canterbury et l’Apéro du Vendredi avec dégustation de vin « Clos Henri ». A St Margaret’s College la remise des prix pour les lycéens ayant participé au concours oral de l’Alliance Française et finalement à Decant on célèbre la fête de la gastronomie avec dégustation de vin et fromages. Un mois bien animé en perspective. Venez donc à l’Alliance Française où vous trouverez quelque chose pour tout le monde et pour tous les goûts. Nous terminerons le mois avec Le petit matin croissants et les délicieux petits pains au chocolat de la nouvelle pâtisserie “Le Panier”.

Spring is in the air and it is time for renewal. It is the same here at the Alliance. Over the past 3 weeks, most of you may have met our new administrator, Morgane Jaffry.If you wish to know more about Morgane, please come and join us at La Permanence at lunch the coming months, new courses will be on offer at the Alliance Française.If you want to have fun, each month Mélusine Labbaye organises a wonderful choice of new activities. Check this out at la Maison de l’Alliance: French movie night, a French soirée for Canterbury University students and and l’Apéro du Vendredi with wine from «Clos Henri». Secondly, our prize-giving ceremony will be at St Margaret’s College for the Alliance Française oral competition. And finally but not least, a wine and cheese evening at Decant. This is a nice way to celebrate “La fête de la gastronomie”.It will be another busy month indeed.Remember, at the Alliance there is something for everyone and every taste. Once again, we will end the month with our famous French Breakfast and the wonderful petits pains au chocolat from new Christchurch pâtisserie “Le Panier”.

The AGM of the Alliance Française of Christchurch will be held on November 24th at 11:00 am after Le Petit Matin Croissant.
As you will be aware, the AF is a not-for-profit organisation.It is run by a committee of volunteers which meets as a group once a month.
The committee members wish to continue in their role in 2014, however additional members with professional skills are always welcomed by the committee and are asked to contact the AF and speak with Morgane.

What you have to do:Create a piece of art on a A4 piece of paper.
Theme: Colours
Rules: Use any colours you wish to create your artwork. It has to be abstract (non representative). On A4 piece of paper
Then join us on the worldwide expostion date : Thursday October 17 to expose your artwork on the clothes line bringing your wooden clothes peg.
