the data is written in the file, the data of the file will be checked again. If the error is

found in the data at this stage, the file will be canceled again. The following window will

be displayed at the time of completion of “Read” operation.

<Operation of “Write”>

When you push the “Write” button, “Data” is read from the file at first. After that, the data

will be written out to “NVRAM”. Then, the contents of NVRAM will be compared to the

contents of the file to check whether the data was written out correctly.

The file which will be used during the operation of “Write” is chosen from the temporally

folder automatically. (The name of the file contains the model name.) When the selected

file agrees with the model which is connected, the data will be read from the file. Then, it

starts to write out the data to NVRAM. If the file with the name corresponding to the

connected printer does not exist, the operation of “Write” will end in the “ERROR”. The

window message as shown below will be displayed during the operation of “Write”.

After writing the data to the printer is completed, the data of the file and the data of

NVRAM will be compared.

Page 26: Maintenance Tool

When nothing wrong with the data, the window as shown below will be displayed, then

the data file will be eliminated.

When something wrong with the data, the error message as shown below will be

displayed. In this case, elimination of the file and re-writing to NVRAM will NOT be

operated automatically.

<“NOTES” to the “Read/Write NVRAM” function>

* When you write out the data from file to NVRAM, the serial number will not be

changed unless the printer is turned on again.

* When the operation of “Read/Write” ends in the “ERROR”, please do the next job

after rebooting the printer.
