The biggest motivating factor for me returning to postgraduate study was investing in my career In my line of work the more qualified you are you certainly have more sway

I worked full-time and weekends were filled with sport and driving kids around so studying at Charles Sturt was very flexible ndash it suited me If I had a busy week I could put study on hold and get back to it the following weekend

It fit in with my lifestyle and was really the only option for me

Putting things on pause

But the idea of flexibility went further than that With my course it was really flexible with exit points as well I took a little break for a couple of years because we bought another business at work and that was hectic ndash so I exited with a graduate diploma

It was the perfect way to put it on pause Then when things got knocked into shape at work I re-enrolled in my masterrsquos and I found that everything Irsquod already studied counted towards that That was brilliant

Study that fits

The biggest motivating factor for me returning to postgraduate study was investing in my career In my line of work the more qualified you are you certainly have more sway

I worked full-time and weekends were filled with sport and driving kids around so studying at Charles Sturt was very flexible ndash it suited me If I had a busy week I could put study on hold and get back to it the following weekend

It fit in with my lifestyle and was really the only option for me

Putting things on pause

But the idea of flexibility went further than that With my course it was really flexible with exit points as well I took a little break for a couple of years because we bought another business at work and that was hectic ndash so I exited with a graduate diploma

It was the perfect way to put it on pause Then when things got knocked into shape at work I re-enrolled in my masterrsquos and I found that everything Irsquod already studied counted towards that That was brilliant

Navigating online study with Charles Sturt was user friendly I found the online platforms were easy to use compared to other websites and setups I have at work

Everything you need is online and you soon get into the routine that suits you Irsquod finish work and then do half an hour of study every afternoon That just kept me up to speed with everything

And the subject forums were active and engaging and that helped build connection with other students and lecturers
