General

• Tools needed for installing the LPG tank : - Soldering iron - Tube-flaring tool - Drilling machine - Drilling kit - Drill size 30mm and 70 mm - Workshop tools. - Gas leak detection device - Vacuum cleaner - Anti-corrosion agent / black body coating - Car lift

• Note the jack supporting points and moveable parts when mounting the LPG line.

• Remove the inner burrs after shortening the LPG line (to prevent the flow from being reduced).

• It is not permitted to have LPG lines routed through the passenger compartment or a closed

cargo space. Place a rubber socket on the back of the outer filler when installed into the body work. Seal the socket gastight on both sides.

• After having drilled holes ( use safety glasses ) for the mounting of a tank frame, floor

ventilation, etc., always treat the holes against corrosion after having removed the grindings.

• Provide a thorough frame mounting on vehicles with a thin metal or wooden floor panel (vehicles with commercial registration). Secure the mountings to the vehicle frame and not to the floor.

• Treat the LPG tank when mounted under the car with a black body coating.

• Mount the LPG tank according to the local LPG regulations. The LPG installer is responsible

for that. This manual is based on Dutch regulations. • Mount a LPG tank up to 85 litres with two tension straps.

Mount a LPG tank over 85 litres with four tension straps. Locate the tension straps in such a way that the identification stickers remain visible. A tension strap has to be in contact with the tank over at least half the tank diameter, with a minimum of 15 centimetres. Secure the tension strap with a tension hook and the lower M8 nut. Tightening moments: With two tension straps: tightening moment 7.3 Nm. With four tension straps: tightening moment 6.1 Nm.

• After having completed the installation, check the whole system for gas leakage; use a gas

leak detection device.

• Check the Prins site for tank certificates and wiring diagrams.

Front bracket

remove floor cover plate, and boot carpeting

place front bracket and mark the holes to drill ( Ø9mm )

remove bracket, drill two holes of Ø9mm and drill the oval hole (grummet) up to Ø30mm


Rear bracket

temporary bolt on the front bracket and place the rear bracket to a distance of 290mm

mark the holes to drill

remove sealant around holes and use big washer plates.


Ventilation pipe for filler hose Lift the right exhaust out of it’s rubbers and loosen the heat shield.

right front side : drill a hole Ø30mm for installing a ventilation pipe

cut a piece of the pipe and install the pipe with a sealant and 4 screws.

install the pipe with a sealant and 4 screws.

also cut a hole of Ø40mm into the plastic cover for the ventilation pipe


Filler

Remove right rear wheel and plastic inner mud guard.

drill the holes, see page 9, make a cut into the rubber back, mount the filler with 3 bolts

and big washer plates

install rear bracket with M8 bolts, place protection onto frame, install LPG pipe

After installing LPG pipe and filler hose: seal of the pipe and hose with a sealant.

Replace tool box left and right before installing the tank.
