1. Mall visit- why do you think it is composed in this way ? Mall name- MGF METROPOLITIAN About MGF mall - The MGF METROPOLITAN which sprawls over 2,50,000 sq.ft. of area has epitomized retail revolution. The metropolitan houses some of the big and popular stores like Lifestyle, food courts, Big Bazaar, entertainment zones all under one single roof which has facilitated the shopping in Jaipur. Brands and the retail stores available in mgf metropolitan mall are Big bazaar,  food bazaar, Nike,  Archie’s, lifestyle, Nostradamus, big apparels, Aryan Life Style/ Primus Retail (Sports Wear & Sports Equipments), Sanskriti restaurant,  the time factory, the world of Titan, Ginny & jonnie, Fab-india ground floor, Planet, Peter England, Black Berry, Van Husain, Rich Look, Levis, Koutons-ground floor, Signature, Reebok, Newbie (Appeals), Prink it, Apeksha Art and Frame, Vodafone, Cookie man, Bombay Dying, Silvex (Jewellery) Goldmine, Bose, Camby, Funcity , Osim India, Timex (Watches) , Citizen, Prime Watch World. I think MGF mall is composed in this way so as to increase the foot falls, further this can be explained with the examples. For example:- (a) suppose a customer visits in a mall to have food and if the restaurant is on the ground floor then what happens is that the customer have food and go away and they would not see the other things in the mall, so the mall should be composed in the way that if the customer wants food they would come to the top or say 4 floor so that they can see other things as well and they can purchase it. This will enables to increase in the foot fall and at the same time the sales and profit. (b) In my point I think mgf mall is composed in right way because the food court is on the 3 rd floor so if the person is Hungary or they want to eat something they have to go to the 3 rd  floor, in that case they may visit to Archie’s gallery, Nike, lifestyle, these are on the 1 st floor and if they do not visit at least they know about the particular store and brand and may be they can make purchase on future dates.

Anchor stores: -

It has the 45,000 sq. feet Lifestyle as a departmental store that assist in

increasing traffic to the venue. This not only benefit the store itself, but also the

50-plus retail outlets present within the complex. Lifestyle doesn’t occupy the

space at a single level, but across the three floors so that customers who enter

into it would certainly see other outlets and it may increase their footfall as well.

There is a 35,000 sq. feet Hypermarket - Big Bazaar, located at the basement. It

caters to people's daily needs (groceries, toiletries, food items and the like)

Arrangements have been made for a children's play area so that they can be taken care

of while their parents finish their shopping. There is an ATM of PNB at the entrance of

the mall to increase the footfall. Opposite to it there is a Gift wrapping counter to

enhance the service of the customers.

2. Percentage of retailers in term of various segments, why do you

analyze of this mix:-

I analyze this mix because the mall consist maximum percentage space for cloths

as there are lots of brands like black berry, peter England, van Husain, lifestyle,

Louie Philip, etc are on the ground, 1st, and 2nd floor, so from ground floor to 2nd floor

there are clothing section. The reason behind is the Mall is situated at the center of

city and nearby the elite class colony, and the people comes here for shopping of

cloths as they spend more on cloths rather then something else.

Analysis of the Retail Mix: -

A right tenant mix covering every segments of retail from food to beauty salons, thus

providing different routes for the customers to enter the mall. Moreover, various

brands in apparels, watches, food and footwear increases the number of choices

available with the customers. Beauty parlors, gaming zones and the high class hotel

in the mall increases the footfall for the vanilla stores. Food court is positioned on the

third floor to attract consumers vertically up.

Positioning of the Mall:-

Positioning a mall refers to defining the category of services offered based on

demographics, psychographics, income levels, competition in neighboring areas and

extensive market research of the catchment.

Metropolitan is Situated in the heart of jaipur city, spread over the main road , in the Tri -

Junction of Sahkar Marg, Bhawani Singh Marg & Sardar Patel Marg.. The malls provide

high-end luxury products catering to the elite class (socio-economic classification A and

B consumers) residing in the locality.

Parking: Parking is sufficient at the outer of the mall as well as in the basement.

Infrastructure Management: - Fully air conditioned, uninterrupted power supply,

utilities etc.

3. Recommendations:-

Big bazaar has a separate entry and exit from outside the mall, it would have

been more efficient if the entry and exit is within the mall; which would have

certainly raises the foot traffic. Another option would be to have a separate entry

but the exit should be within the mall.

There is only one entry and exit point for the entire mall, which leads to traffic

mismanagement.

More consumer durable stores should be opened in the mall.

Providing few outlets to the local stores (local bazaar) can help to increase the

footfall of lower middle class people which would increase the revenue for the

mall, which would also decrease the threat of substitutes for the mall.
