Mission

The mission of the language resource centre at Colegio Colombo Hebreo is to serve, support, and promote autonomous learning behavior in the study of English, Hebrew, and Spanish at all levels within the Jewish

and Hebrew community of Bogotá.

• They are the most important part of our LRC.

• They come to the LRC eager to learn a new language.

• They need constant support from the Facilitators.

• They are required to keep the Learner Portfolio updated in order to prove their learning process.

• They need to understand their shift from students to LEARNERS.

The Users

• They are the developers of the pedagogy used for the learners.

• Even though they are divided in the languages taught at the institute, they are responsible for teaching how the LRC can be improved.

• They are in charge of creating the activities that will guide the learners and give further explanation and support to them.

• They will also evaluate the learners and give feedback so that they understand what and how to improve their language level.

Facilitators

Infrastructure Coordinator

• Is in charge of the layout of the LRC.

• Must analyze the infrastructure needs of the LRC according to the users and the facilitators.

• Must check periodically the infrastructure of the LRC to detect misuse or maintenance of the furniture, or common replacements such as light bulbs.

Technical Coordinator

• Must solve the technical problems of the LRC. (Electricity, Internet, connections, and set up of the technological tools)

• Must report the possible dangers of the setting of the technical structure of the LRC.

• Must check periodically the technological tools to detect misuse or maintenance of any equipment.

• Must report periodically to the LRC manager the technological needs of the LRC.

Facilitator Coordinator

• Is in charge of the Facilitators.• Must arrange schedules of the facilitators’ tutorials with students.

• Must arrange schedules of the use of the LRC.• Must communicate the needs of the facilitators and the users to the infrastructure and technical coordinators or to the LRC manager, depending on her/his judgment.

• Must revise the activities to be done by the users.

• Must revise the student’s portfolios.• Must organize meetings with the facilitators in order to do follow ups of the program.

LRC Manager

• Is the head of the LRC.• This person must have direct contact with all the members of the LRC.

• Is in contact with the school administration in order to report the advances, opportunities, needs, etc. to the school board, school principal and school administrator.

• Makes sure that everyone is doing their job by giving support and advice when needed.

• Must give support to the facilitators by giving training or requiring training for them.

• Must have continuous training in autonomous learning and self access materials.
