1.Introduced Parks and Recreation to the Coffee County Health Council for the First Time.
RESULTS It brought health resources and information to the Parks and Recreation Department. Parks and Recreation brought expertise and facilities for physical activity. Synergy A conversation began that lead to results. Lead to information about funding sources we could all take advantage of that would benefit our community. Diabetes Initiatives Grants, Community Foundation Grants etc.

$20,000 Tennessee Department of Health Planning grant to develop first ever Coffee County Health Plan. 2011-2012 Developed and maintained first County Health Council Web site. Coffeecountyhealth.com (still active). Introduced GaGa to Southern Middle Tennessee. Bought a GaGa pit that is used annually by schools and rentals for parties. Started Amazing Family Nights in 2011. Open up the Manchester Recreation Complex for Free on a Friday night once a month. Must have a parent or adult with them. We cover health Topics in 10 minute talk, agencies set up booths, provide free Healthy snacks (fresh), open indoor and outdoor pools up. Last one was August 18, Children’s Eye Health and we had 337 people. Growing Latino participation. Coordinated School Health and Coffee County Public Health, Coffee County Health Council are always there. Help supply volunteers. Sponsors: Walgreens, Civic Groups, Businesses
