Dear Parents and Carers

This week we had the Year 5/new Reception Buddies Assemblies. The Year 5 children,

Miss Heath and Miss Collister did a fantastic job. Their play was wonderful to watch,

the booklets for the new children were delightful and everyone enjoyed the snacks

they had prepared. It was great to have all the new Reception children in school, for

them to meet their new teachers (Miss Brown and Miss Smithson) and we were really

proud of the welcome the Year 5 Buddies gave the children.

On Thursday we had our transition day in school, with the children spending a lesson

with next year’s teacher. At Maney Hill we have an excellent teaching staff. From

Reception through to Year 6 the teachers and teaching assistants support every child

to be the best they can be. Thank you to them all. Mrs Whitehead

Job opportunity

I am the Catering Manager at Bishop Vesey

Grammar School. I have two part-time vacancies

in September for 16 hours within school time,

term time only, for catering assistants. This

would suit a mum or dad looking for a job around

their child’s school hours. One is for maternity

cover for a year and the other is a new position.

Please contact Bridie Curtis on 0121 354 5451

for further details.

School Expansion Update

It’s full steam ahead preparing the second Year

2 classroom for September. Mrs Mills and Mrs

Tonks have ordered a complete new set of

furniture including tables, chairs, cupboards,

coat hooks and classroom equipment. Mrs

Bearley has had many boxes to unpack and

furniture to assemble. Mrs Philippou has been

sorting and organising, including preparing lots

of labels.

Meanwhile, outside the finishing touches are

being done to our excellent outdoor toilet block

and the ‘log cabin’ classroom.

Next week marks the start of the building of the

‘haul road’ across the playing field and the

enlargement of the staff car park.

Class & Team Photos

Please make sure that any orders for Class and/or

Team Photos are handed in to school by Monday

morning, at the latest.

RF Class Assembly

Well done class RF! You all did brilliantly and learnt your lines so well. Both myself and Mrs Edwards are extremely proud. Mrs Fullard

The confidence that the whole class showed was amazing, especially in front of a full school Hall at just 4/5 years old. The organisation that must have gone into the production was not overlooked by us and I’m sure other parents. Mrs Fullard and Mrs Edwards have obviously done a brilliant job.
