Our Families, Our Home, Our Vision

Dear Residents of Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC,

A Home With A FutureWhat do we all live for?Jobs and livelihood are important, but the truth is - it’s about our loved ones. It’s about a secure and comfortable home we can go back to. And a home with a future.

In the last five years, thanks to your ideas, support and encouragement, we brought about significant progress to our GRC. Together, we have delivered on our promise to build a more secure, beautiful and harmonious home where you and your children can live and grow together.

We listened to you. As a result, Punggol has blossomed into a vibrant and popular new town. Likewise, Sengkang has grown into a choice home of today. Hougang and Pasir Ris have been improved and upgraded while retaining their distinctive and endearing character.

For residents in Sengkang, we have delivered a new market, eating houses and supermarkets. We saw through the opening of the Mega Malls near Pasir Ris. We implemented Neighbourhood Renewal and Lift Upgrading Programmes in several precincts in Hougang and Pasir Ris. We are mindful that homes must be made more friendly to residents of all ages.

For the young, we have improved the facilities to expand their learning horizons, meet their sporting needs and increase their leisure avenues. We witnessed the launch of the Sengkang Sports Complex, new and upgraded schools, park connectors, basketball courts, education centres, and new and renovated playgrounds. For senior citizens, we introduced more Citizen’s Corners as well as Fitness and Activity Centres.

For commuters, we accommodated more bicycle racks and improved traffic flow at the Pasir Ris MRT station. The new KPE and connecting roads have smoothened traffic and shortened travel time. We raised the quality of life and increased the value of your homes.

These programmes have been implemented despite serious economic challenges. The world was hit by its worst financial crisis since the 1930s. Singapore remained stable. Our people were resilient. We overcame the crisis together, emerging with strong economic growth.

Our grassroots and community leaders played a key role in reaching out to many in need. Through national and local community programmes such as Project S.U.C.C.E.S.S., Edusave Merit Bursaries, Kindergarten Financial Assistance, CCC Welfare Funds, ComCare and NorthEast CDC assistance schemes, we assisted many thousands of families and individuals in the past five years. At our meet-the-people sessions we attend to many residents every week, doing our best to help resolve various difficulties. We put people back to work. We help find homes. We provide medical care. We assist children from troubled homes.

Looking To The FutureLike you, we are excited by the opening of the Punggol Waterway, the new Pasir Ris Sports Complex and Punggol 21 CC. We will build a new General Hospital in Sengkang. A new Polyclinic and the Neighbourhood Police Centre in Punggol are in the works. Young couples and other aspiring families can expect several major housing developments in Pasir Ris offering new private and executive condominiums, design-and-build and built-to-order HDB homes. In Hougang, we will enjoy the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme.

Within all our estates, we will continue to improve and upgrade facilities, such as providing more drop off points, car park spaces, and installing lifts in carparks where possible.

These programmes go hand-in-hand with our national programmes to create opportunites for higher income for all; improve the lives of lower income Singaporeans; bring out the best in every child; develop a vibrant city and an endearing home; help our seniors stay active, healthy and engaged; and involve all Singaporeans in shaping our future.

All these ambitions will be possible only with your strong support. We thank you for the trust that you have placed in us. We have a strong, reliable team, which combines diverse experience with new energy and ideas. We ask for your support so that we can continue to work with you and serve you better.

感谢您过去5年来的建议、支持与鼓励,我们才能为集选区带来显著的发展。我们一起携手履行了我们的承诺,创造出一个更坚固、更美好、更和谐的家园以供您和您的孩子们生活与成长。

我们聆听了您的意见。至今,榜鹅已经蓬勃发展成为一个受欢迎的亮丽新镇。同样的,盛港也成为了居家的首选。后港与白沙继续翻新提升,也同时保留着原有的特色。

在盛港,我们为这里的居民带来了新的菜市场、饮食场所、以及超级市场。我们同时见证了白沙附近一带霸级商场的开幕。我们也为后港与白沙市镇的几个区推行邻区更新计划与电梯翻新工程。在推行这些计划的过程中,我们都铭记在心,要为各年龄阶层的居民建设一个适合他们的家园。

我们为年轻人开阔学习视野,改进现有的教育设施。我们也不忘添加体育与休闲设施,供他们在娱乐方面的需求。我们见证了盛港体育馆的启用、添加了新学府、公园连道、篮球场、教育中心、以及新的游乐场。我们也翻新了现有的学校与游乐场。

我们也为年长者建设了更多乐龄活动角落,以及健身与活动中心。

在交通方面,我们在白沙地铁站增设了更多脚车架,并改善那里的交通状况。崭新的加冷巴耶利巴快速公路与衔接的路段也有助缓和交通,并缩短了通行的时间。我们提高了您的生活素质与产业的价值。

这些计划都是在严重的经济挑战下实行。当时全球面对自1930年代以来最严重的经济危机,但新加坡仍保持稳定。我们的人民表现出非凡的适应力。我们一同战胜危机。我们的经济已经从困境中茁壮成长。

我们的基层与社区领袖在协助有需要的居民方面扮演着重要的角色。通过国家及区域性资助计划如:“成功计划”、教育储蓄助学金、幼稚园经济援助计划、公民咨询委员会福利基金、新加坡社区关怀基金、以及东北社区发展理事会的援助计划,我们在过去5年里帮助了几千户人家。我们通过每周的“接见选民”活动,尽力为居民解决各种难题,无论是帮助寻求就业机会、寻找房屋、提供医药协助、或是协助困苦家庭的孩童。

展望未来我们和大家一样,期待着榜鹅水路、白沙体育馆与榜鹅21民众俱乐部的开幕。我们也会在盛港兴建一所中央医院,并在榜鹅兴建新的综合诊疗所与邻里警察中心。白沙则将会添设许多设计优良的居家选择,包括新的私人、建屋局的执行共管公寓(executive condominiums)、设计、兴建和销售组屋计划(design-and-build)与预购组屋(built-to-order)供年轻伴侣或组屋提升者选购。后港也将会改头换面,焕然一新。

我们将会持续提升并翻新现有住宅区内的设施。这包括建设更多有盖的落客站,添加停车位,以及在停车场内安装电梯。

Kediaman Yang Mempunyai Masa DepanApakah matlamat hidup kita?Pekerjaan dan mata pencarian memang penting, tetapi apa yang lebih utama ialah orang-orang yang kita sayangi. Begitu juga dengan tempat tinggal yang aman dan selesa; yang mempunyai masa depan.

Selama lima tahun ini, dengan sokongan, idea dan galakkan anda, kita telah berjaya memakmurkan GRC ini. Dengan sokongan anda, kita juga telah melaksanakan janji untuk menjadikan kawasan perumahan ini indah, aman dan damai untuk anda dan keluarga anda diami.

Kami dengar suara anda. Hasil dari itu, Punggol telah berkembang menjadi sebuah bandar yang rancak membangun dan digemari ramai. Sengkang juga turut dikenali sebagai sebuah tempat tinggal idaman. Hougang dan Pasir Ris pula telah pun diperbaiki dan dipertingkatkan tarafnya sambil mengekalkan ciri-cirinya yang tersendiri yang menarik.

Bagi penduduk di Sengkang, kami telah menyediakan sebuah pasar baru, tempat-tempat makan dan juga pasar raya; termasuklah pembukaan Mega Malls berdekatan dengan Pasir Ris. Kami juga melaksanakan program Pembaharuan Persekitaran dan Peningkatan Lif di beberapa presint di Hougang dan Pasir Ris. Kami prihatin bahawa tempat tinggal ini harus mesra penduduk dan sesuai untuk semua peringkat usia.

Bagi penduduk warga muda, kami telah memperbaiki kemudahan yang ada untuk memenuhi keperluan mereka untuk belajar, bersukan dan beriadah. Kita telah saksikan pembukaan Kompleks Sukan Sengkang, sekolah-sekolah baru dan yang dinaik taraf, laluan penyambung taman, gelanggang bola keranjang, pusat pendidikan dan pembukaan taman-taman permainan yang baru dan yang dinaik taraf. Bagi para penduduk warga tua pula, kami akan menyediakan lebih banyak kemudahan sudut warga tua, dan pusat senaman dan riadah.

Bagi kemudahan para penduduk berulang-alik, kami telah sediakan lebih banyak rak-rak basikal dan mempermudahkan laluan trafik ke stesen MRT Pasir Ris. Lalu lintas KPE yang baru dan jalan raya yang menghubunginya telah juga melancarkan dan mengurangkan masa perjalanan. Kami juga telah meningkatkan mutu hidup dan nilai tempat tinggal anda.

Kesemua peningkatan ini telah kami laksanakan walaupun Singapura menghadapi pelbagai cabaran ekonomi. Dunia telah dilanda krisis kewangan yang paling buruk sejak tahun 1930s. Namun, keadaan Singapura tetap stabil. Rakyatnya tetap tabah. Kita dapat mengatasi krisis ini bersama, dan bangkit dengan mengecapi pertumbahan ekonomi yang lebih teguh.

Para pemimpin akar umbi dan masyarakat telah memainkan peranan penting untuk membantu golongan yang memerlukan. Melalui program nasional dan kemasyarakatan seperti Project S.U.C.C.E.S.S., Biasiswa Merit Edusave, Bantuan Kewangan Bagi Tadika, Tabung Kebajikan CCC, ComCare dan Skim Bantuan CDC Timur Laut, kami

telah dapat membantu ribuan keluarga dan individu dalam tempoh 5 tahun ini. Pada setiap sesi pertemuan penduduk, kami telah melakukan yang terbaik untuk menghuraikan pelbagai masalah yang dikemukakan. Kami membantu penduduk mendapatkan pekerjaan, tempat tinggal dan rawatan perubatan serta membantu kanak-kanak dari keluarga yang memerlukan.

Memandang Ke Depan Kami kongsi kegembiraan anda atas pembukaan Punggol Waterway, sebuah kompleks sukan terbaru di Pasir Ris, dan Kelab Masyarakat Punggol 21. Kami juga akan membina sebuah hospital awam di Sengkang. Sebuah poliklinik baru dan sebuah pusat polis kejiranan di Punggol juga sedang dibina. Pasangan muda dan mereka yang merancang untuk memulakan keluarga boleh menjangkakan lebih banyak unit perumahan di Pasir Ris yang menawarkan kondominium ekskutif dan swasta, flat reka-bina dan pesan-bina yang akan disediakan oleh HDB. Kawasan Hougang juga akan diberikan wajah dan nafas baru.

Kami akan meneruskan kerja-kerja pembaikan dan naik taraf di seluruh estet. Kami juga akan menyediakan lebih banyak kemudahan seperti tempat turun naik kenderaan, ruang meletak kereta, dan memasang lif di tempat letak kereta yang bertingkat.

Program-program yang dirancangkan ini serentak dengan program-program nasional yang dilakarkan untuk memberi lebih banyak peluang bagi meningkatkan pendapatan kita semua; meningkatkan pendapatan golongan berpendapatan rendah; memperkasakan anak-anak kita; membangunkan bandar yang utuh; membantu warga tua hidup aktif dan sihat; dan melibatkan semua warga Singapura dalam membina masa depan kita bersama.

Semua cita-cita ini hanya boleh tercapai dengan sokongan anda. Kami ucapkan ribuan terima kasih atas kepercayaan yang anda berikan kepada kami selama ini. Pasukan kami diperkuatkan lagi dengan wakil-wakil yang membawa bersama mereka berbagai pengalaman, tenaga dan idea baru. We will have more upgraded Fitness Corners for the elderly, foot reflexology footpaths, and more Senior Citizens’ Corners.

Punggol has blossomed into a vibrant and popular new town. Sengkang has grown into a choice home of today. Hougang and Pasir Ris have been improved and upgraded while retaining their distinctive and endearing character.

We are excited by the opening of the Punggol Waterway, the new Pasir Ris Sports Complex and a futuristic Punggol 21 CC.

We will build a new General Hospital with modern facilities in Sengkang which will serve our residents throughout the GRC.

Punggol will have a new family-friendly Polyclinic and a welcoming Neighbourhood Police Centre.

Young couples and other aspiring families can expect several major housing developments in Pasir Ris offering aesthetically-designed new private and executive condominiums, Design-and-Build and Built-to-Order HDB homes.

Hougang will have a makeover.

Within all our estates, we will continue to improve and upgrade facilities, such as providing more sheltered drop-off points, ample car park spaces, and installing lifts in car parks where possible.

The MRT will have 22 new trains to improve frequency and service levels. Bus routes will continue to be improved to serve the growing population and premium bus services will be introduced to serve new niche demands.

Sebuah poliklinik baru dan sebuah pusat polis kejiranan di Punggol juga sedang dibina. Pasangan muda dan mereka yang merancang untuk memulakan keluarga boleh menjangkakan lebih banyak unit perumahan di Pasir Ris yang menawarkan kondominium ekskutif dan swasta, flat reka-bina dan pesan-bina yang akan disediakan oleh HDB. Kawasan Hougang juga akan diberikan wajah dan nafas baru.

Kami akan meneruskan kerja-kerja pembaikan dan peningkatan di seluruh estet. Kumpulan-kumpulan belia menyediakan peluang untuk para remaja menjalin ikatan persahabatan sambil mengembangkan minat dalam bidang seni, sukan, persekitaran dan perkhidmatan sosial. Kumpulan sokongan warga tua membantu golongan tua untuk kekal cergas dan sihat.

Kumpulan Pengawas Kejiranan pula menjadikan hidup kita lebih aman. Program bantuan kemasyarakatan seperti projek S.U.C.C.E.S.S. membantu penduduk yang memerlukan pekerjaan.

Dermasiswa Merit Edusave dan Bantuan Kewangan Tadika pula memastikan para pelajar kita mendapat bantuan yang diperlukan. Dana Kebajikan CCC, ComCare dan skim bantuan CDC Timur Laut turut menolong penduduk yang memerlukan khidmat jagaan kesihatan ataupun yang menghadapi masalah kewangan.

Kami sangat menggalakkan dan mengalu-alukan lebih ramai penduduk tampil ke hadapan dan berganding bahu dengan aktivis akar umbi dan pertubuhan masyarakat dalam usaha membina masa depan yang terjalin dan lebih cerah untuk semua.
