Annual Quality Assurance Report 2011-12

PART ‘A’

College has started the process of reaccreditation and has submitted the SSR to NAAC office in the

month of Nov.2011. The criterion-wise plan which was designed last year was as follows and the outcome

of the plan is also given therein.

CURRICULAR ASPECTS:

1. College is introducing 3 additional courses in coming academic year. College has initiated these

courses, in order to acquaint students in life skills such as skill of argumentation, Drafting, pleading

and communication and other soft skills etc. Proposal for the aforesaid course is accepted by the

management. The syllabus for the said courses is prepared and the feedback on it is collected from

all stake holders. Student‘s response is positive.

TEACHING, LEARNING & EVALUATION:

1. College has planned the Bridge course for students from rural back ground.

Since last academic year college has introduced remedial teaching for both LL.B. & LL.M.

Courses. In order to help the students remedial courses were introduced in the subjects chosen by

students themselves. Remedial courses were introduced for Company Law and Cr.P.C, benefit

of these courses was availed by more than fifty students.

2. For LL.M. Students College is planning to adopt double valuation system.

This year college conducted internal test twice and by taking out of the means of total score the

marks are assigned.

3. College had planned to establish MOU with National Law Schools last year.

On 27th August, the College entered MOU with National Law School India University for

teacher and student exchange. Under the MOU, Dr V S Mallar, M. K. Nambiar, Chairperson,

Constitutional Law of National Law School of India University, Bengaluru (NLSIU) delivered a

lecture on the Relationship between Fundamental Rights & Directive Principle of State Policy on

24th January 2012. On 27th February 2012, Prof. Dr. V Nagaraj, Registrar of National Law

School of India University, Bengaluru (NLSIU) delivered a lecture on Mediation & Negotiation.

Ms. Bhagyashree Paranjpe, Assistant Professor, M. P. Law College visited National Law School

Bangalore in the month of December 2011 and availed the benefit of this exchange programme.

4. It is well established practice of the college to arrange guest lectures of experts. The following

guest lectures were arranged throughout the year:

Dr. K.V.S.Sarma, Registrar NALSAR, Hyderabad spoke on ‗Challenges & Career

Opportunities in Legal Education‘ on 1st August 2011, the College Foundation Day.

Dr. Y. Pratap Reddy, Associate Professor University College of Law, Osmania University,

Hyderabad delivered lecture on Jurisprudence on 9th August 2011

On 10th August 2011, Dr. S. Dwarkanath, Associate Professor & Principal University College

of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad gave an overview of the Criminal Procedure Code.

On 11th August 2011, Dr. B. H. Choudhari, Principal, Law College, Osmanabad, Dean,

Faculty of Law, Dr.BAMU, Aurangabad gave an overview of the Civil Procedure Code.

Adv. Mr. Sudhakarrao Avhad, Former Chairman, Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa.

Advocate at Pune, appraised the students on Law of Evidence on 25th August 2011

On 16th September 2011, Adv. Mr. Asim Sarode Social Worker at Pune addressed on

Equality and Equal Opportunity enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution of India

From 3rd to 5th Oct‘ 2011, Prof. Ch. Satyanarayana, Asst. Professor. P. R. R. Law College,

Hyderabad spoke on Family Law

From 4th to 5th Oct‘ 2011 Prof. D. V. Ramana, Asstt. Professor N.B.M. College,

Vishakhapatnam, (A.P.) enlightened the students on the Law of Criminal Procedure and on

7th October 2011 on Constitutional Law

Prof. Sanjay Jadhav, Asst. Professor Dept. of Law, University of Mumbai, Mumbai guided the

students on General Principles of Contract on 13th Oct. 2011

On 25th July & 21st Oct.2011, Mr. Rajendra Deshmukh, Advocate Bombay High Court

guided on Law of Criminal Procedure

Prof. V. G. Ranganath, Asst. Professor ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad guided on Civil

Procedure Code from 12th to 15th Oct 2011.

On 22nd December 2011, Ms. Izumi Wakugawa, Technical Advisor, Japan ASPECT (Asian

Study Centre for Peace & Conflict Transformation), Kathamandu, Nepal spoke on the Politics

in Writing the Constitution of Nepal.

On 2nd Jan.& 12th April 2012 Mr. Rajendra Deshmukh Advocate Bombay High Court guided

students on Law of Crimes i.e. Indian Penal Code .

On 10th

Jan 2012 Prof. S.Subarao, Assistant Prof. Vijayanagaram delivered lecture on

political Science.

RESEARCH, CONSULTANCY & EXTENTSION:

a) In continuation of last year‘s plan, steps are taken by the college for:

Strengthening of research and extension activities through ―Legal Research Centre‖. The

College has submitted the proposal for affiliation to the research center from Dr. Babasaheb

Ambedkar Marathawada University. Recently the affiliation team of the University visited the

College and we are waiting for the recognition and affiliation from University.

College has adopted the innovative practice of establishing ‗Research Club‘ for motivating and

training students in research skills. Following are the highlights of the activities done by the

research club throughout year

On 3rd September 2011 the 1st inaugural lecture by Prof. Sudhir Gavane, Dept. of Mass

Communication and Journalism, Dr. B.A.M. University, Aurangabad was arranged on ‗Recent

trends and opportunities in Legal Research.‘ He emphasized on the need of international

collaborative research.

On 16th Sept. 2011 Workshop on ‗Role of Advocates in Protecting Human Rights‘ was

arranged. Along with 209 student members of Research Club, students from M. P. Law

College, Ambedkar Law College, V. N. Patil Law College and Dept. of P.G. Studies of Law,

Dr. B.A. M. University attended this workshop. Adv. Asim Sarode and Adv. Rama Sarode

from HRLD organization based at Pune were invited to guide participants. One documentary

on Human Rights issue was shown which was followed by open discussion.

Research Club of the College organized a Two Days Training Programme on ―Capacity

Building for Researchers‖ for the Research Club members of the College in the month of

December 2011. Approximately180 students participated in this training programme.

This training programme was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Adv. R.J. Godbole,

followed by his session on Importance of Meditation Techniques in Personality development.

In the Second Session Prof. Dr. Dilip Khairnar, H. O. D. Sociology Dept. Devgiri College,

Aurangabad guided the trainees on the recent trends in Legal Research as well as in Social

Sciences. In the third session Prof. P.M. Shahapurkar from M.S. W. College of Dr. B.A. M.

University trained students on Research Methods such as Surveys and Interviews techniques.

In the Fourth Session the process of Data Analysis was shown to the participant students with

the help of computer Lab Assistant Mr. Santosh Suradkar. For this training on data analysis,

these participants were given a questionnaire on ‗School transportation facilities and

regulations by the state government‘ to be filled from various schools. The activity was

completed prior to the training workshop. On the second day, Prof. Dr. Nandkumar Naik

retired professor from Public Administration, Dr. B.A. M. University , who is currently

working as Officer on special duty to assist Hon‘ble V. C. Dr. B.A.M.U. trained student

participants on ‗Writing research Articles - skills ‘, thereafter Dr. Sunil N. Date, retired

professor from Public Administration, Dr. B.A. M. University guided participants on ‗Research

Report Writing‘. In the Second Session of the day Prof. Shampa Dev, from M. P. Law College

delivered lecture on ‗Logical reasoning in the Research‘. In the third session Prof. Dr. Mable

Fernandez, Dept. of English Dr. B.A. M. University guided student participants on

communication Skills and Mannerisms. The Valedictory function was presided over by Adv.

Shri. J.K. Wasadikar, Secretory M.L. & G. E. Society. For the Function Hon‘ble Shri Krishna

Bhoge, Chairman Manav Mission, Govt. of Maharashtra was the guest of honour. Hon. Shri

Krishna Bhoge Sir, guided students on various gray areas of law.

b) Establishing linkages with national and International organization.

College has entered into MOU with National Law School Bangalore for student and teachers

exchange.

College has established a linkage with IIPA New Delhi and following programme were

organised by the college in collaboration with this institute.

a. National Seminar on Emerging Trends in Consumerism in India.

b. Three Days Training Programme for Capacity Building for Researchers in Consumer

Protection and Consumer welfare.

c. Major Research Project titled ‗Working of consumer forums in Maharashtra pendency,

Disposal of complaints and remedial measures‘ for this consumer research center of

IIPA has provided funds for the same.

College is accredited by National Legal Aid Services Authority of New Delhi for organizing

Legal Aid Camps throughout the year and has received 1.20 lakhs for the same.

It has linked with District Legal Aid Services Authority and has organised two Para legal

training camps in the college in association with the DLSA. The students rendered their

services in MAHALOKADALAT organised by DLSA and teachers contributed to it as panel

members.

NSS unit in collaboration with a Local NGO organised Parivarik Lokadalat in the college.

Local NGO representatives are associated with the college in Anti Ragging Mission and in an

attempt of the college to prevent sexual harassment of the women in work places.

c) Publishing academic journal

The College has received ISBN number for publications and is in process of publishing a

special number on ―Emerging Trends in Consumerism in India.‖

d) Undertaking In House Research or research projects.

Research Club of the college conducted a small research project on Implementation of traffic

rules and guidelines for school authorities for school buses which are recently issued by state

government.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND LEARNING RESOURCES:-

It is proposed to start construction of

b) Canteen

c) Separate Toilet Block

d) Construction of four additional halls

e) Construction of conference hall with audio-visual facilities.

f) Beautification of campus

STUDENT SUPPORT & PROGRESSION:-

As suggested by peer team college has to focus on –

Placement Cell of the College organised campus interviews for Pune based LPO.

MINDCREST which conducted preliminary test shortlisting 18 students for applicant

test and personal interview and selected four students to join the institution. Similarly

LIC also visited the campus this year.

b) Alumni Association

Alumni Association supported College by holding interactive sessions with the

students to motivate them in learning professional life and social adjustments, by

assisting and guiding students in the Court when they visit Courts for observing Court

proceedings.

One of the alumni Shri Rajendra Deshmukh has instituted a Late Shri S A Deshmukh

Trophy at the National Moot Court Competition which is a regular activity of this

College. This helps in the encouragement of Mooting skills among students.

The College received support from Adv Sunil Padul and Adv Dilip Khandagale, alumni

of the College for the organizing of the Legal Aid Camps at LadSavangi and Bidkin

respectively

c) Personal Counseling for students.

Teachers guide students in informal way.

d) Parent-Teacher Association

The Parents – Teachers – Counsellor – Fresher Meet was organised on September 20,

2011. Mr. Sandeep Jadhav (Dy. S. P. Aurangabad) and Prof. Dr. Padhye (Educational

Psychologist and Professor, Government College, Aurangabad) provided guidance on

The issue of ragging and role of parents and teachers in the anti-ragging mission and

The effects of ragging on personality of students and remedies thereon respectively.

e) College Planned last year to organize National seminar on consumer rights on 27 and 28

August 2011.

Under the sponsorship of the Centre for Consumer Studies of the Indian Institute of

public Administration, New Delhi, a two day National Seminar on ―Emerging Trends

in Consumerism in India‖ was held on 27th and 28th of August 2011 on the sub themes

- Green Consumerism, Consumerism and Advertisement, Consumerism and Medical

Profession, Consumerism and Legal Profession. The Seminar was inaugurated by

Honorable Justice P. V. Reddi, Chairman Law Commission of India. Honourable

Justice V R Kingaonkar, Member of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal

Commission was the Guest of Honour. Hon‘ble Prof. (Dr.) R Venkat Rao, Vice

Chancellor, National Law School of India University, Bangalore delivered the key note

address. Resource Persons and Delegates from all over India participated in the

Programme. Around 50 delegates presented their papers on the sub themes of the

Seminar. Hon‘ble Shri Justice S. B. Mhase, President, Maharashtra State Consumer

Disputes Redressal Commission, Mumbai delivered the Valedictory address.

Honourable Dr. Vijay Pandharipande, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar

Marathawada University, Aurangabad Chaired the Session and Dr. B. H. Choudhary,

Dean Faculty of Law, Dr. BAMU, Aurangabad was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Suresh

Mishra, Centre for Consumer Studies, addressed the gathering and expressed his

satisfaction about the conduct of the programme.

PART ‘B’

1. Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution:

a) In addition to College lectures, for improving quality of the education imparted the college

regularly organizes lectures of distinguished jurists and lawyers and other experts.

b) National Moot Court Competition is organized and special training for developing mooting skills

is given to the students in order to develop drafting, art of advocacy and presentation skills.

c) For encouraging students to use modern technologies and to motivate them for self learning

college organized National Power Point competition.

d) Making legal education socially relevant college has NSS unit which carries on various activities

like tree plantation, blood donation, health awareness, adopting village etc

e) For providing legal aid to poor and needy people, the institution carries out legal awareness camps,

organizes legal awareness rallies and poster exhibitions, and runs legal aid clinic recognized by

district legal aid services. This helps college to move from theoretical education to participatory

learning.

f) College adopts various innovative methods of holding Intra class debates, elocution, group

discussions and seminars.

g) College has entered MOU with National Law School of India University, Bangalore for teachers

and students exchange. We also have tie up with Indian Institute of Company Secretaries and

ICWA.

h) To motivate students to inculcate research skills and to equip them with the competiting World

College has established research club.

i) Add on courses for developing communication skills is the innovation done by the college.

j) For benefit of poor and needy students college has started Earn and Learn Scheme.

k) In order to give students learning experience beyond Books College organizes various visits to

industries, courts, jails, police stations etc.

3. Innovations in curricular design and transaction:

As College is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, the task of designing

curriculum for LL.B. course is done by the university. However, as a part of future project, college is

introducing 3 additional courses for developing communication skills and to develop the life skills

required. The curriculum design of these courses is done by teachers of this institution. College has

introduced remedial teaching course.

5. Examination reforms implemented:

LLB examinations are conducted by the University. This Year University assigned the work of

conducting examination centre to the college which was done by the college successfully. College

conducts practical examination and internal valuation for practical papers. Similarly all internal

examinations of post graduate students are conducted by the college. The post graduate students are

evaluated for 40 marks internally and the evaluation of practical of 100 marks and dissertation of 200

marks is also done by the college.

7. Initiative towards faculty development programme:

The College organized a 3 day training programme for Capacity Building for Researchers in

Consumer Awareness and Protection. All faculties actively participated in the Training Programme. This

Programme was organized in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi.

Dr Kandasamy, participated and completed the Refresher Course in Information Technology

with A Grade conducted by UGC Academic Staff College, Kunnur University, Kunnur from 16 March

2012 to 5thApril 2012. He has also completed Advanced Course on Copyrights and Related Rights with

Distinction (98%) which was conducted by World Intellectual Property Organization Worldwide

Academy, Geneva, Switzerland in Jan 2012.

Prof. P.S.Deshmukh, NSS Programme Officer has participated as contingent leader for the 10

days skiing training programme carried out in adventure camp February 2012 at Manali (H. P.) conducted

by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Mountaineering and Allied Sports organized by NSS Department Ministry of

Youth Affairs and Sports, New Delhi during 10th

to 19th

February 2012 .

Prof. S. G. Shirsat, participated in a 7 days Orientation Programme for NSS Programme Officers

at Ahmednagar College in the month of November.

Prof. D B Kolte, attended the 87th

Orientation Course organized by the Academic Staff College of

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad fro 02/06/2011 to 29/06/ 2011. He passed

it in the ‗A‘ Grade.

8. Total number of seminars/workshops conducted:

A two day National Conference on Emerging Trends in Consumerism was held in August on the

subthemes –

Consumerism and Legal Profession

Consumerism and Medical Profession

Green Consumerism

Consumerism and Advertisement

Around 50 paper presentations were made. This Conference was sponsored by the Centre for

Consumer Studies, IIPA, and New Delhi.

A one day Para Legal Training Workshop was organized for Students and Teachers on 28th

January 2011, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Aurangabad. In this Para

legal Training workshop 450 students from various law colleges of Marathwada region actively

participated. Students of M.P.Law College performed streetplys for sensitizing the issues like

female feticide, dowry prohibition, domestic violence, consumer protection etc.

The workshop was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Honorable Justice

P.V.Hardas, Judge, High Court of Judicature at Bombay, Bench at Aurangabad. Key note address

was delivered by Honorable Justice M.T.Joshi, Judge , High Court of Judicature at Bombay,

Bench at Aurangabad. At this occasion Respected Judge Shri Sangeetrao Patil, Principal District

& session Judge, Aurangabad was the Guest of honor. Amongst those prominent personalities

who were present for the function were Smt. Chitra Hankare, Secretary, District Legal Services

Authority, and Adv. Dr. Kalpalata Bharaswadkar Joint-Secretary, ML&GE Society, Aurangabad.

The workshop was conducted in two sessions and following were the resource persons

for the workshop-

Adv. Madhuri Advant - Consumer Rights

Adv. Milind Mahajan -Labor Welfare

Mr. D R Pathan - Domestic Violence JMFC

Mr. Vijay Bankar- Internal Key to Success and Social Responsibility

Shri Sangeetrao Patil, Principal District & session Judge, Aurangabad was the Chief Guest

for valedictory ceremony of this workshop. The valedictory ceremony was presided over by

Adv. J. K. Wasdikar, Secretary , M.L.&G.E. Society, Aurangabad.

9. Research projects

a) Newly implemented:

The college has received funds from Center for Consumer studies, IIPA, New Delhi, for a Major

Research Project titled ‗Working of consumer forums in Maharashtra pendency, Disposal of complaints

and remedial measures‘. In this research project the College would be studying awareness about the

consumer rights and also the working of the 6 Districts (three rural and three Urban) Consumer Forums.

This project is initiated by Dr. Aparna Kottapalle along with Prof. Bhagyashree Paranjape and Prof.

Shampa Dev. In this project surveys and interviews would be conducted by the college students. The same

method for the project is approved by the Sanctioning authority i.e. IIPA, New Delhi.

a) Prof. Aparna N. Kottapalle has been awarded Ph.D. On ―A Critical Evaluation of Law Relating

to Domestic Violence Against Women‖ [with special reference to metropolitan cities, Pune and

Aurangabad] .

b) Prof. S. Kanthasamy has been awarded Ph. D. On ―Legal Status of computer software on

Internet – Under International Cyber Laws‖.

c) Prof. S.N. Morey is doing Ph.D. on ―Study of Social Engineering theory with special reference to

the Indian Constitutional Jurisprudence‖. Through Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada

University, Aurangabad under the guidance of Dr. Suresh Mane.

d) Mr. D. B. Kolte is doing Ph.D. on ―A Critical study of doctrine of secularism as basic structure of

Indian Constitution‖ under the guidance of Dr. Shirish L Deshpande, HOD, PGTD Law RTM

Nagpur University, Nagpur.

e) Prof. P.S. Deshmukh is doing Ph.D. on ―An Empirical study of socio-legal implication of

standard form of contracts‖ through North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon under the guidance of

Dr. Subzwari.

f) Prof. S.G. Shirsat is doing Ph.D. on ―A Socio Legal Study of Social Security Law and

Unorganized Workers‖. Under the guidance of Dr. Subzwari through North Maharashtra

University, Jalgaon.

g) Prof. Shampa Dev has submitted Ph.D. thesis on ― An insight into the Law Governing the

Human Rights of Child relating to Education‖ under the guidance of Dr. Y.G. Laxmi Rao, Reader

Faculty of Law, Nagpur University.

h) Prof. B.V. Paranjpe is doing Ph.D. on ―A Critical Study of Powers of Supreme Court under Art.

a) Legal Aid Clinic – Legal Aid Clinic provides free legal aid to poor and needy people. This Legal

Aid Clinic is functioning since 2004. Recently it was reincorporated as per the new norms of the

National Legal Services Authority. It was inaugurated by Honourable District Judge Shri

Sangeetrao Patil. Shri Kunal Kumar, District Collector, was the Guest of Honor.

b) Legal Aid & Awareness campaign: The College organizes various rallies and Camps as a part of its

Legal Aid Awareness Campaign, on the subjects like women empowerment, female feticide, right

to information etc. The College also conducts Street Plays and Poster Exhibitions to effectively

reach the subject to the rural masses. The College was fortunate to receive Financial Aid of Rs. 1.2

lac from the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi. Utilizing this fund the College

organized 12 camps in nearby villages for spreading legal awareness.

c) National Social services (NSS Unit of the College) provides community services in the following

ways like Red Ribbon Club, Disaster Management Cell, Legal Aid Clinic, Blood Donation Camp,

Alumni Association supported College by holding interactive sessions with the students to motivate

them in learning professional life and social adjustments, by assisting and guiding students in the

Court when they visit Courts for observing Court proceedings. One of the alumni Shri Rajendra

Deshmukh has instituted a Late Shri S A Deshmukh Trophy at the National Moot Court Competition

which is a regular activity of this College. This helps in the encouragement of Mooting skills among

students. The College received support from Adv Sunil Padul and Adv Dilip Khandagale, alumni of

the College for the organizing of the Legal Aid Camps at LadSavangi and Bidkin respectively.

a) Moot Courts and PPT

Students of our college demonstrated outstanding talent in various activities like Moot Court,

Sports, Debates and Elocution and other extracurricular activities. This year the students of the College

brought laurels to the College by winning prizes at the Moot Court Competitions organized at various

places. They are as follows

1. Miss. Sonia Chillarge received Best Female Speaker prize in National Moot Court Competition

organized by S.S. Maniyar Law College Jalgaon.

2. Mr. Pradeep Dahiwal got Best Mooter Prize at Marathi Moot Court Competition organized by

3. Miss. Neha Kambale bagged the prize of Best Mooter in the State Level Competition held by

law college Parbhani.

Arts Commerce Science College, Kannad, Swami Ramanand Teerth Mahavidyalay Abbejogai, and

at Rajeshri Shahu Maharaj Elocution Competition organized by Dr. BAMU, Aurangabad. She also

bagged the second prize at the Kendriya Yuvak Mahaotsav and District level Yuvak Mahaotsav.

She also got a consolation prize at Yeshwantrao Chavhan Pratishthan Mumbai.

2. Mr. Vaibhav Khairnar won the First Prize at the Rao Saheb Patil Tope Debate Competition

organized by Matsyodari Shikshan Sanstha, Jalna and a consolation prize at the 6th State Level

present. The students have taken a pledge ‗not to be indulged in activity of intoxication and habit of

tobacco chewing‘.

2012, the Council had organised the ‗Samvidhan Sandesh Rally‘ in city. The

message of Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity enshrined in Constitution of India in Marathi,

Hindi, English and Urdu was exhibited. The rally was concluded with reading of the Preamble of

Constitution in above languages at College.

2. On the occasion of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rashtra Sant Gadgebaba Jayanti on 23rd

February

2012, the special lecture of Mr. Baviskar (Dy. S. P., Aurangabad) was organised. On this occasion the

Drawing, Rangoli and Elocution competitions were organised. Shrikant Shirsat, Adity Waghmare,

Karuna Pattebahadur, Avinash Pawar, Smita Shinde, Balu Mhaske, Rajju Gudade, Ganesh Kendre,

Pramod Patil, Avinash Suryavanshi, Usha Bhagat and Bhushan Borde were given prizes. On this

occasion the students had undertaken the campus cleaning campaign.

3. In order to develop and to nourish the hidden talents of art, literature , debate and elocution college

organizes various competitions on the occasion of annual social gathering and celebrates Cultural Day.

This year Mr. Uttamsigh Pawar (Former Member of Parliament) was the Chief Guest for this function.

4. It is the practice of the college to appreciate best students as ―Miss MP & Mr. MP‖ taking into

consideration their overall performance in the college. This year these titles were given to Miss. Sayali

Sevekar and Mr. Nikhil Duby respectively. Similarly meritorious students and student achievers in

various activities were appreciated by giving them special prizes.

5. Anti Ragging Mission of the college another healthy practice adopted by the institution. This mission

was given a wide publicity through the prospectus and the boards giving warning about the

punishment for ragging are displayed throughout the campus. Various committees as per the university

directions are constituted and sensitizing programmes like Anti Ragging Video Show and streetplys

were organized. The ‗Parent-teachers-counselor-fresher Meet‘ was organized and speech was

delivered by Mr. Sandeep Jadhav, Deputy S.P. Aurangabad. On ‗The issue of ragging and role of

parents and teachers in anti ragging mission‘. Prof. Padhye Educational Psychologist and Professor at

Government College Aurangabad Spoke on ‗the effects of ragging on personality of students and

remedies thereon‘.

6. Hostel students celebrated Savitribai Phule Jayanti. Dr. Smita Awachar Head of the Department of

Sociology delivered lecture on this occasion.

7. In order to maintain gender friendly atmosphere and to sensitize students on the issue of prevention of

sexual harassment at work places a small workshop was organised in which the girl students

participated in large number at this occasion Dr. Swati Shirale was invited to deliver special lecture on

the issue while Adv. Geeta Deshpande covered legal aspects of sexual harassment in her speech.

8. Another healthy practice of the college is to celebrate birthdays of all the staff together, it helps to

Publication of Annual Journal

College has planned to publish ―Marathawada Jurisbrain‖ Annual Journal in English which covers

issues in the area of Sociology, Political Science and Law. It shall comprise of research papers,

Articles on new trends, Survey on focus areas, debates and analysis of current issues, case

comments and Book Reviews. Scholars, Academicians, Advocates and Judges can contribute in

this Journal. The process for ISSN No is complete.

Publication of the book on the theme of Seminar

It is well established practice of the college to organize National Seminar every year. Taking a step

forward college has decided to publish a book on the theme of the seminar. This year college

organized National Seminar on the theme of ―New Trends in Consumerism in India‖. On this

theme a book is to be published in coming academic year. The college has received ISBN no for

the same from Raja Ram Mohan Roy National Agency for ISBN, Government of India, Ministry

of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, and New Delhi.

We are planning for ISO in the next academic year.

For participation of Industry in the field of legal education the college is planning for tie up

with local industries which will give exposure to the students about labor laws,

environmental laws etc. College shall also explore sponsorships by way of negotiations

from industries under social responsibility programme.

College has tie up with institute of company secretaries and ICWA, under this project we

are planning to start coaching classes in the afternoon for students of C.S. and ICWA.

We are also planning to publish book on Female Feticide.

The college is waiting from UGC grants of 25 lacks for various amenities against the

Colleges which completed 50 years of its existence.

Similarly we are awaiting 50 lacks for various amenities under 11th

plan extension

programme for colleges under 2F and 12B.
