Coding & Programming with S2BIn Mathematics, S2B have been working on coding programs for our ‘Beebots’ to follow. This involves anticipating turns and, moving forwards and backwards to a required distance. It also is important to have the commands in the right order, or all havoc can break loose. This week we used our coding and programming skills to support our PBL program. The mission was to code a path from the S2B door to the front gate, the bus lines and the side gate for parent pickups after school. The students constructed an enlarged, scale map of the sector between the Arthur Street gates, our Access Lane inside the school gates and the front gate. We created a grid reference to assist our programming. The exciting part was programming our ‘Beebots’ and testing them to see if our coding worked. This week S2B will continue to undertake coding and programing different routes and pathways in other areas of our school.

School Reports

Our education department has given schools across the state an extension to have their Semester One class academic reports finished and handed out in Term 3 Week 6 due to the remote learning period of COVID-19.

Our teaching staff have been monitoring students progress during Term One and Two and have chosen to remain with our annual cycle of reporting to parents and send out our reports this week.

Primary: Reports will go home on Wednesday ... Parent / Teacher interviews will be scheduled for early next term (Week 1 and Week 2).

Year 11: Reports will go home on Wednesday ... Parent / Teacher interviews will be scheduled for the beginning of next term.

Years 7 - 10: Reports will be mailed to you at the end of this week ... Parent / Teacher interviews will be scheduled for the beginning of next term.

At this stage, we cannot hold face to face interviews due to social distancing restrictions. These may be lifted by the end of July, but at this stage we will not be holding face to face interviews.

We are working on a suitable alternative either through telephone calls or by a ZOOM type meeting via the internet.

We will have this sorted for you by the commencement of Term 3.

End of Term PBL Assembly

We will be conducting an assembly in the Primary this Friday in order to present our students with their well earned rewards. We will post or award recipients on our Facebook page for all to see.

Secondary Awards

Last Friday we commenced rewarding our secondary students who received an award that week with a hot chocolate as a way of saying thank you for being such a great person.

We will continue these deliveries over the cold winter season.
