Years of economically

sustainable Abundance! At current energy consumption rates, the

element thorium, when utilized in an MSR, can

provide energy for more than 8 billion years.

More than twice as the remaining life of the

sun (neither wind or solar can make this claim).

Moreover, thorium is affordable, abundant,

dependable, domestic, and has none of the

drawbacks of traditional nuclear energy or of

fossil fuels.

Thorium SummitMEC members will receive a discount for joining the Thorium Molten Salt Reactor Association of 10%. As a member you will be able to attend the Thorium Summit tenatively scheduled for July 28th in Washington D.C.. At this Summit you will be able to network with federal legislators and their staff. For more information as it becomes available please sign up today at our booth today!

Re-igniting Ohio’s exceptionalism!Saving the green in your wallet does not have to come at the expense of our green environment. The THMSRA will change the present reality that “Green energy is expensive energy.” Deployment of Thorium-fueled MSR reactors will create the future reality of inexpensive energy abundance by producing energy at half the cost of today’s cheapest energy sources with none of their environmental and safety disadvantages.

Thorium based energy is not a new idea or a new technology. Thorium and MSR (Molten Salt Reactor) technologies were developed in the early days of civillian nuclear power research.

These promising technologies were put on America’s technology shelf in the early 1970’s because during the height of the Cold War the economy was failing, and the government wanted to avoid the expense of additional research. Just as importantly, thorium could not produce materials suitable to create nuclear bombs.

Both the state of the economy and the political climate caused the government to pursue the uranium and uranium/plutonium fuel cycles. The Billion dollar plus investment in Molten Salt Reactor technology was considered a “sunk cost,” and the technology was forgotten by history until a curious NASA scientist decided to champion thorium’s comeback.

Many of the world’s top scientists, such as Edward Teller and more recently, Nobel Prize winner Carlo Rubbia, are now championing the benefits of commercializing Thorium and MSR technology.

Many will ask “Why have I never heard of thorium energy?”

The simple answer is that until very recently many nuclear technologies were classified as top-secret or confidential. At the time thorium-based energy and the MSR were put on the shelf, secrecy enveloped all nuclear technology. Only since thorium and MSR technology was declassified and reviewed by industry experts has it been embraced by the private sector.

Ohio State Representatives Terry Boose, Andy Thompson, Ron Amstutz, Louis Blessing, Gerald Stebelton, Matt Lynch, Ron Young, and others have sponsored Resolution HCR 43, which will create official support by the State of Ohio for the commercialization of thorium-based energy.

We ask you to contact your own Ohio House Representatives and urge them to pass HCR 43, so Ohio private industry can take the first steps to develop this this technology and its commercialization here.

-Mike Brakey, founder of Brakey Energy and former chair of Industrial Energy Users-Ohio“If you read Ayn’s Rand book, “Atlas Shrugged”, and then follow the development efforts of the THMSRA, you quickly realize that Ayn Rand was a prophet. The development of thorium technology is a key to prosperity for Ohio and regrettably, we will probably have to fight the federal government every step of the way to let private industry develop this safe and clean energy technology in Ohio!”

WHAT DECISION MAKERS ARE SAYING....The THMSRA (Thorium Molten Salt Reactor Association) is rapidly gaining support and momentum. It is time you joined the future of energy! Become a member of the association today! To find out how you can become part of the association please visit: WWW.THMSR.ORG

-Ohio State Representative Nan Baker of Ohio’s House District 16“Thorium is a clean and safe energy-based source. Not only is it inexpensive and abundant, it is environmentally safe, and we in Ohio need to capture this exciting commodity for the private sector use, particularly in manufacturing.”

-Michael L. Heil, Ohio Aerospace Institute President and Chief Executive Officer“Advanced nuclear power will play a key role in meeting America’s future energy requirements. Ohio has the skills and capabilities to be a leader in advanced nuclear power, to include thorium molten salt reactors.”

– Senator Rob PortmanAmerica needs a comprehensive national energy plan that reduces our dependence on foreign oil and ensures we have access to reliable, affordable and cleaner domestic energy. We should aggressively pursue domestic energy sources, support the advancement of alternative/advanced energy technologies, and promote energy efficiency and conservation. Ohio can play a key role by recognizing and harnessing the power of Ohio’s natural resources and matching them with our skilled workforce, advanced technologies, and strong research and manufacturing capabilities in a way that creates more jobs and opportunities for Ohio.

-Ohio State Representative Terry Boose of Ohio’s House District 57“The development of thorium-based energy holds tremendous potential for Ohio. Ensuring a safe, affordable, abundant and environmentally sustainable supply of energy is crucial to Ohio and the nation’s future, and thorium is well-positioned to fill that critical need.”

-Ohio State Representative Andy Thompson of Ohio’s House District 95“Thorium can be another ‘game-changing’ energy source for Ohio and for our nation. From medical applications to its impact on coal, to its value in helping consume conventional nuclear waste, thorium is a ‘force multiplier,’ and an option we cannot afford to ignore.”
