    Backgroun d:

    This month the Mayor sent out a message ). ratepayers in Our Auckland s ying that he had

    succeeded

    in

    keeping

    to only a 2.5% crease as promised. This S t.8tG ment ignores the

    significant impact on ratepayers

    Governing Body's decision 0 put in place a

    targeted transport levy on all residentia ratepayers of $114 per year and business

    ratepayers of $183.00. This will take the av age residential rate increase to 9.9%.

    The long Tenn Plan consultation documen~rion distributed to households ontained limited

    information on the transport targeted 1eV]~'n comparison to the propos iKigeneral rate.
