R’ Moshe Feinstein was at home with one of his Talmidim, when a young fresh Almanah came to speak with R’ Moshe. The Talmid went to the back of the room and watched quietly as the woman poured her heart out to R’ Moshe. As the woman finished, the Talmid observed R’ Moshe with tears streaming down his face. He sat there and cried for a few minutes, said a couple of words and the woman left, visibly comforted and lifted to more positive spirits.
The Talmid then asked R’ Moshe, “Rebbe, did you know this woman’s husband well? Was he perhaps a Talmid of yours?”
“No” replied R’ Moshe, “I did not know her husband at all and I do not know her either.”
“So, Rebbe,” the Talmid replied, “why all the tears?”
R’ Moshe said, “She is a part of Klal Yisroel and therefore I must also carry her burden”.

Cleaning Stove Burners & Grates using Ammonia Take 1/4 cup of Ammonia and pour it in a large ziploc bag. Place one of your burners in the bag and seal and leave outside on a coookie sheet overnight. The fumes of Ammonia dissolves all the grease and hardened oil. After sitting, wipe clean with a sponge.
Removing Tarnish A simple chemical reaction causes tarnish to disappear naturally. Place sterling or plated silver in an aluminum pan – (it must be aluminum). Sprinkle 1/2 to 1 cup baking soda over the silverware. Keeping the pan in the sink to minimize splashing, pour enough boiling water to cover the utensils. When the tarnish disappears, remove the silverware, and buff with a soft cotton cloth. Tip to clean your cutting boardUse lemons to remove stains from wood and plastic cutting boards. Squeeze, rub and let it sit for 20 minutes then rinse and enjoy your cutting boards new look!
Steam-clean your microwaveAdd 1 cup of vinegar to 1 cup of hot water and microwave it for 10 minutes – you’ll be astonished at the results!

-New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, like many politicians across America, went into public service because of a desire to help people.
And, also like other elected officials, Bloomberg has taken his desire too far.
Bloomberg is on a mission to, as he has said, save New Yorkers from their destructive habits. He says most New Yorkers are overweight, which puts their health at risk. The mayor last year imposed a ban on high-calorie, sugary drinks larger than 16 ounces at restaurants.
Those businesses and others went to court to quash the restriction because it was an “unprecedented interference” with consumer choice.
The ban, officially to be imposed by the city Health Department, was put on hold and the nation watched to see just how far government -- local, state and perhaps, national -- can go in saving us from ourselves.
Last Monday, a New York Supreme Court justice barred the ban from becoming law Tuesday because it contained too many loopholes and the mayor, through the Health Department, overstepped his authority. This matter is within the jurisdiction of the New York City Council.
Bloomberg, to nobody’s surprise, has vowed to appeal until every avenue is exhausted.
Those who want larger portions of what the government says is allowable will easily figure a way to get as much as they want. Figuring out a way to get 32 ounces of
Dr. Pepper doesn’t require the skills of an international diamond thief.
But while Bloomberg is off the mark in his desire for government to serve as a health nanny, he is absolutely correct that too much sugary drinks-- or, frankly, just about any other drink or food consumed -- isn’t good in huge portions all the time.
Moderation is the key, and its reasonable for government to educate people on good-
eating habits.And private businesses
should have the freedom to decide whether it’s a good business decision to offer or not offer certain products in whatever size they believe is good business for them.
Moderation is the key. It’s not the role of government to monitor calorie consumption. Ultimately, food consumption is -- and should remain -- personal.
