heard someone refer to

for warm spring weath-

er. “Farch” has been ex-

tremely busy at St. Raph-

ael. Hard work in the

classrooms, Terra Nova,

competitions, winter

sports — and the list goes

on. We also honored our

students who were

named to the Honor Roll

for the second trimester.

(Please see the listing in

this issue of the gReat

Middle School Prayer Service For Peace — Our middle school students, teach-

ers and some parents participated in a pray-

er service alternative to the nationwide school

walkout. They began outside and proceeded

to the gym. After the service the students re-

turned to class in silence. Thanks to Dr. Tuck-

er, Ms. Tabor and Father Shayne for leading

our students in prayer.

PERFORMING COMMUNITY SERVICE

We welcomed back these SRS alumni and Trinity seniors,

who have come to St. Raphael to work in our classrooms

with our students for the past few weeks. They are living

out Father Shayne’s motto of Pray, Study Serve. Thanks

for returning to St. Raphael for your community service.

PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY

Thanks to Peyton Plumeri, grade 5, who was Principal for the

Day on Thursday. Peyton did a fine job, starting with an-

nouncements and prayer, opening our all school prayer ser-

vice, presenting Honor Roll certificates and helping with car

rider dismissal. Quite a busy day. A principal in the making?

HOW MUCH HAS IT GROWN? — Ms. Simmon’s first graders measured the grass which they

planted from seed during a science experiment. Watch for a surprise when the children bring home their

projects.

PE TEACHER FOR THE DAY

Peyton Plumeri, grade 5,

has done double duty this

week. Not only was he

Principal for the Day—he

also was PE Teacher for

the Day. He and Mr. Ferch

had a great day collaborat-

ing.

VIRTUE OF THE MONTH — Our vir-

tue of the Month is

Mercy. The 3rd grade

students made a

beautiful presentation

after our all school

prayer service. Each

class was ask to se-

lect someone who em-

bodied Mercy to them,

and the pictures were

hung in the hallway

outside the office.
