WE, the people of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish of Great Falls, Montana, created by God, centered in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the
Holy Spirit, are sharing our journey of faith,
WE are committed to upholding our faith, strengthening our families, and being a joyful people of prayer.
WE strive to be the Lord’s presence on earth by welcoming and ministering to all people with compassion and hope. Rev. March 1999
Look upon us as we enter these Forty Days bearing the mark of ashes, and bless our journey through the
desert of Lent to the font of rebirth. May our fasting be hunger for justice; our alms, a making of peace;
our prayer, the chant of humble and grateful hearts. All that we do and pray is in the name of Jesus. For
in his cross you proclaim your love for ever and ever.
The 2017 Care and Share Annual Catholic Appeal, “
You are Numbered Among the Saints and of the Family of God” is off to a great start in our parish. If you have not yet made a gift to this year’s ap-
peal, we invite you to do so today. Every dollar raised to meet our parish goal for
Care and Share benefits our parish and the greater needs of our fellow Catholics
throughout the Diocese.

During Lent we use rice bowls from Catholic Re-

world who are assisted through your donations to
CRS. Also, 25% of your donations stay here in Great
Falls. Watch this area for more information.

It is nearly time to do a spring cleaning@ the
Monsignor House. Watch the bulletin for the
day and time. We will do both inside and out-
side. We need men and women for this task and
with a dozen people we can finish in 2 hours.
Prayer is our connection with the Divine. St. Theresa of Lisieux is
credited with saying “How happy I am to see myself imperfect and
be in need of God’s mercy.” In all our imperfections God loves us,
forgives us, and calls us to the ideals that characterize the Heav-
enly World which we call home. Compassion given in this world
prepares us to live in the next. We had two families when we
hosted in February. One of the families is now in their own home
an so happy and proud to be able to let go of their past and enter
into the life they believe they are called to live. As a parish we can
rejoice with them and appreciate the compassionate role we played
in helping them achieve success. Let us pray…
If you have questions regarding Family Promise please feel
free to call and leave a message for board member Kate
Triplett or director Sharon Odden at 406-866-0288 or Kathie
Malby at 781-5033. Your interest encourages us.
“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again.” John 4:13
Jesus reminds us that material things, even something as basic as
water, can never satisfy us for long. When we build our lives
around material possessions we always want more. True Joy and
Peace only comes when we follow Jesus; when we become more
“God-centered” and less “self-centered”.
Musicians Rehearse on Wednesdays, in the church.
7-7:45: Weekend music / 7:45-8:30: Choral with
parts. (Enter through the side door, around to the
right.) All voices and most instruments are welcome to help
lead the music. Call Mary Dupuis for details.
Liturgical Bits and Bytes: The General Instruction of the
Roman Missal (GIRM) is the official document that de-
scribes the procedures for celebrating Mass. After the Sec-
ond Vatican Council the Mass underwent many revisions.
Since 1970 the General Instruction of the Roman Missal has
undergone further revisions. Some clarifications were made
in 1972. The entire Roman Missal was updated in 1975,
causing further emendations to its introduction. After the
Code of Canon Law was revised, further liturgical changes
occurred in 1983. In 2000 a more thorough revision of the
instruction took place, which was lightly edited again in
2002. A provisional English translation of that document
was issued in 2003, and the final version was pulished with
the rest of the Roman Missal in 2011.
