Dwarf Cars… Unbelievable Monthly Cruising Page 4

They are built in the shop you see. They are actual cars in every sense. Unbelievable as it may seem. Ham-

mered out of 20 gauge metal. Every piece hand made from scratch. The Mercury has 22 thousand miles on it

and has been to Indiana . The '39 Chevy has over 40 thousand miles on it. The man that builds them, drives

them. The '42 Ford Convertible sounds like it has glasspacks on it. Those spotlights have been built from

scratch and they function. Windows roll up and down. Doors close with no effort. Let go, it closes effort-

lessly. The bumpers, grills, everything made from flat metal. The wheels, little wheels from scratch. He even

makes wire wheels, ala 34/35 Ford, Model 'A's, etc. No stamp mill around, a shaper, a cutter, gas and electric

welder. And needless to say a 'Good Eye'!! One of the most fabulous finds of the time. Not so much the beauty

of the cars, but finding someone with the kind of magic and artistic ability. Many miles out in the in the coun-

try near the town of Maricopa , AZ. He doesn't do computers but his son has a site at:http://

www.dwarfcarpromotions.com/ . However, they don't do anything commercial. He enjoys his cars and

100's of people drive out there (many miles) to see the cars. On a dirt road no less!

Dwarf Cars (cont.)

Ernie Adams built his first Dwarf Car Cruiser in 1965. He used the

steel he acquired from old refrigerators. The first car resembled a

1928 Chevy 2 door sedan, powered by a 13hp Onan 2 cylinder motor.

Ernie is currently in construction on a 1934 Ford Dwarf 2-door sedan

and plans to finish up by the summer of 2012. His fans are anxiously

waiting for the debut of his next car. When asked, do you think your

Mercury is the best car yet? Ernie smiled and said, “The best is yet to

come.” For more on Ernie and his cars, go to his web site:

January 15th Pipe Bending Demonstration

“Club member Bob Cecca and his shop foreman Mike Bussiere gave a us a demonstration of his new exhaust

pipe bending machine. Mike performed some standard and detailed bends. They offer many popular pipe sizes

and they also carry stainless steel piping. Bob’ s parts shop has come a long way in a short time. He now of-

fers pickup bend covers in all sizes and quality. He is also going to start to do some restorations. He has a

1959 Chevy El Camino separated from its chassis. The Chevy is getting a nut and bolt restoration. I will be

trying to update the newsletter every few months with recent progress. “
