My Sweet Sisters My Sweet Sisters is starting back around March 1st. You can “spring” into action by completing a “My Sweet Sisters” card and dropping it into the envelope provided on the bulletin board. We’re changing the dynamic a bit so that you will have more than one sister! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to have more fun and fellowship with your Christian sisters. JOY Facebook Friday JOY Facebook Friday is coming on Friday, March 3rd at 7 p.m. at the building. “BYOB” (bring-your-own-bag-dinner) and learn about Facebook and the new JOY Express Facebook Bible Study. SOAR Youth Rally “Seeking Our Awesome Redeemer” (SOAR) is a youth rally sponsored by the Central Church of Christ in Augusta, GA for 15 years. This event is for 8th-12th graders. Be a part of SOAR 2017 during the March 17-19 weekend. See Tim Jones for info.

2016 Tax Letters If you need a 2016 tax letter, please e-mail Sandy West at [email protected] and one will be sent to you. Men’s Breakfast & Leadership Meeting On Saturday, March 11th, at 9 a.m., we will be serving pancakes, bacon, coffee and juice. This breakfast is an opportunity for the men of our congregation to come together and fellowship. It’s a great chance to learn new leadership skills and how to apply them to your life. All men are invited, including young men in their teens. Please put your name on the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. Questions? See Tim Jones. New Auditorium Class Jerry Brewster will begin a new Sunday morning auditorium class in March. It is entitled Doctrine, Traditions and Opinions in the Churches of Christ. Child Care Workers for Events We are in the process of putting together a list of people interested in caring for children during special events. This will be a paid position (minimum of $30). We would rotate through the list, giving everyone on it an opportunity for service. If you have any questions or would like to apply, please contact Tim Jones at 813.764.7513 or by email at [email protected]. New Directory Coming If there are changes to be made to the new directory, please email them to Sandy West at [email protected].

Romans 3:23-24 (TLB) 23 Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious ideal; 24 yet now God declares us "not guilty" of offending him if we trust in Jesus Christ, who in his kindness freely takes away our sins.

Song Service and Music Class We will continue with our congregational singing on the first Wednesday night of each month. This is a good time to learn some basic music theory, as well as learning how to read music and sing. Combine that with learning some new songs with which the congregation may not be familiar, and you have a fun, exciting experience in store for all who make the effort to attend. It is the hope of leadership that every member will make every possible attempt to be present for each session. This is a wonderful time of improving our congregational song service, and everyone is invited to join in. The time is 7 p.m. and we will be sure to finish by 8 p.m. each evening, allowing you time to get your children home and in bed at a reasonable hour. Vendor Showcase at University of Tampa The 8th Annual Vendor Showcase & Luncheon will be on Wednesday, April 5th at 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. on the 9th floor of the Vaughn Center at UT. $7 entry fee to have lunch, fun, get free product samples, support a good cause, etc. See flyer on the bulletin board.

“Compassion from the Cross” "Father, forgive them, for they do not know

what they are doing." Luke 23:32-38 (NIV) 32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. 33 When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals--one on his right, the other on his left. 34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are

doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. 35 The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, "He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One." 36 The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar 37 and said, "If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself." 38 There was a written notice above him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

What I know about Jesus’ forgiveness:

1. He forgives ____________________________________ Colossians 2:13-15 (MSG) 13 When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, 14 the slate wiped clean, that old arrest

warrant canceled and nailed to Christ's Cross. 15 He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.

2. He forgives ____________________________________ Hebrews 7:25 (TEV) 25 And so he is able, now and always, to save those who come to God through him, because he lives forever to plead with God for them.

3. He forgives ____________________________________ Ephesians 1:7 (NLT) 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

Three ways we try to handle guilt?

1. We try ____________________________________ Psalm 32:3-5 (CEV) 3 Before I confessed my sins, my bones felt limp, and I groaned all day long. 4 Night and day your hand weighed heavily on me, and my strength was gone as in the summer heat. 5 So I confessed my sins and told them all to you. I said, "I'll tell the LORD each one of my sins." Then you forgave me and took away my guilt.

Proverbs 28:13 (GW) 13 Whoever covers over his sins does not prosper. Whoever confesses and abandons them receives compassion.

2. We try ____________________________________ Genesis 3:12 (NIV) 12 The man said, "The woman you put here with me--she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it."

3. We just ____________________________________ Psalm 38:4-6 (NIV) 4 My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. 5 My wounds fester and are loathsome because of my sinful folly. 6 I am bowed down and brought very low; all day long I go about mourning.

How does Jesus want us to handle our guilt?

1. ____________________________________ Proverbs 20:27 (NLT) 27 The LORD’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.

1 John 1:8 (NIV) 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

2. ____________________________________ James 5:16 (NIV) 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

3. ____________________________________ 1 John 1:9 (NIV) 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
